Homemade Mobile Toilet Water Tank

Admin September 22, 2026

There are mainly three methods for making a homemade mobile toilet water tank: using a water storage barrel, using glass, PVC pipes, and plastic bottles, and using transparent acrylic sheets.

Making with a water storage barrel: First, use an angle grinder to split the water storage barrel in half. Then, fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board to facilitate the movement of the water tank. Use wooden strips and self-tapping screws to increase the height of the barrel to meet usage requirements. Open a door on the side of the water storage barrel, install sponge strips to form a door frame, and embed plastic soft boards to create raised walls. Place the upper half of the water storage barrel on top of the wooden strips as a roof. Open a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Open holes on the side and bottom of the plastic barrel and connect them with direct fittings. Place the plastic barrel on the roof to form a small water storage device. Use pipes to make a bath heater, install a tee under the inlet pipe and connect a showerhead. Place the toilet on the drain pipe hole, install the water tank and fix it with glass glue, connect the drain pipe to the sewage barrel, and horizontally connect a pipe from the tee on the outlet pipe to the door as the inlet pipe for the washbasin.

Making with glass, PVC pipes, and plastic bottles: First, use several pieces of glass to make the frame of the water tank. Cut out several PVC discs and glue them together. Prepare cut PVC pipe fittings, polish them flat, and open circular holes on the sides for assembly. Prepare a pull-out device, which is made using pipe fittings and the rubber pad part with pinholes. Connect the device to a plastic bottle, with the bottle size preferably not exceeding 500 milliliters. Make a switch device on top of the glass and install all the pipes inside the glass. Note that the size of the drain should be determined according to the toilet size. Apply sealant at the joint positions to prevent leakage. Connect the inlet pipe to allow the water tank to store water. Gently press the toilet to drain the water.

Making with transparent acrylic sheets: First, install the water tank support and use a hole saw to open the drain. Open drain and inlet holes on the transparent acrylic sheets. Put the acrylic sheets together and stick them with transparent tape for easy assembly. Tear off the white transparent tape inside the water tank and seal the gaps between the sheets with transparent glass glue. Make a drain valve. Drill three discs on PVC pipe sheets that have been split open and flattened from large PVC pipes. Place the discs on a single-sided inner tube and cut along the discs. Make a mark in the middle of the rubber pad and fold and cut a small opening. Pass a hexagonal screw through the PVC sheet and the rubber pad, place the smaller PVC sheet on top, and tighten it with a corresponding-sized hexagonal screw. Make an external male straight fitting. Draw the shape on one side of the straight fitting with a white marker and saw it with a mold to form a bevel. Drill a 20-hole position on the higher side to match a 20-pipe.
