Homemade Mobile Sanitary Toilet

Admin September 23, 2026

A homemade mobile sanitary toilet can be made using two main methods: utilizing a water storage tank and a pallet or a water storage barrel. Here are the specific steps:

Making with a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Building the Basic Mobile Structure: First, prepare a pallet and fix universal wheels at each of its four corners to ensure the toilet can move flexibly.
  2. Modifying the Water Storage Tank: Collect a suitable water storage tank from a garbage station and place it on the pallet. Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line at the top of the tank, remove the top, and form an open tank body.
  3. Combining the Tanks and Creating an Entrance: Place another similarly open-top water storage tank upside down on the first tank body and stack them. Use self-tapping screws to fix the outer frame to enhance the structural stability. Then, cut a rectangular opening on the combined tank body as the entrance.
  4. Installing Internal Facilities: Drill a hole in the internal floor, insert an elbow and a water pipe, and seal them properly to prevent water leakage. Install a toilet and secure it firmly. Fix the water pipe at the wall buckles, install a faucet, and make a sink with a stainless steel basin and fix it below. Connect the water inlet pipe of the toilet tank and the shower hose, install the shower bracket and the toilet seat.
  5. Making and Installing the Door: Make a door with wooden boards and hinges, and install a door handle for easy opening and closing.

Making with a Water Storage Barrel

  1. Splitting the Water Storage Barrel and Preparing the Mobile Structure: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage barrel in half. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy movement of the toilet.
  2. Increasing the Height of the Barrel and Creating an Entrance: Fix wooden strips and self-tapping screws on the upper side of the barrel to increase its height. Cut an entrance on the side of the water storage barrel and install sponge strips on both sides of the entrance to form a door frame.
  3. Building the Walls and Roof: Insert plastic soft boards between the wooden strips to form raised walls. Place the upper half of the water storage barrel on the top of the wooden strips as the roof. Paint the wooden strips with white waterproof paint to improve their aesthetics and waterproofness.
  4. Installing Internal Facilities: Make a simple door by splicing foam strips and discarded honeycomb wooden boards. Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Drill a hole on the side and connect a direct joint. Place a plastic barrel on the roof as a small water storage device and connect it to a bath heater made of water pipes. Install a three-way joint below the water inlet pipe and connect a shower. Place a toilet and install a water tank, and fix it with glass glue. Connect the drain pipe to a sewage barrel, and connect a water pipe horizontally from the three-way joint of the outlet pipe to the entrance as the water inlet pipe for the sink and install relevant components.
