Homemade House Prefabricated Panels

Admin September 18, 2026

Homemade house prefabricated panels can be achieved through the wooden-board model-making method and the mold-pouring method. Prefabricated panels come in two types: solid and hollow. Making hollow panels can reduce weight and save costs.

Wooden-Board Model-Making Method

First, prepare wooden boards of appropriate sizes and nail them together to create a hollow model according to the design specifications of the prefabricated panels. The size and shape of the model should meet actual usage requirements to ensure that the subsequently made prefabricated panels can be accurately installed. After the hollow model is completed, arrange steel bars reasonably in the hollow part of the model. The arrangement of steel bars should follow a certain spacing and pattern to enhance the structural strength of the prefabricated panels, enabling them to bear the load of the house. After arranging the steel bars, fill the hollow part with cement. The cement mix ratio should comply with relevant standards to ensure its strength and durability. During the cement pouring process, pay attention to vibrating it thoroughly to avoid defects such as voids. After the cement dries completely, carefully knock off the wooden boards. The remaining part is the prefabricated panel. This method is relatively simple to operate and is suitable for small-scale production or scenarios where the precision requirements for prefabricated panels are not particularly high.

Mold-Pouring Method

Prepare a rectangular mold and firmly fix a wooden board in the groove of the mold. The function of this wooden board is to facilitate the cement mortar to grip it, increasing the adhesion between the prefabricated panel and the mold. Fill the mold with cement mortar. During the filling process, embed two iron wires for reinforcement. The embedding position and quantity of the iron wires should be reasonably determined according to the size and stress conditions of the prefabricated panels. Then, sprinkle sand ash multiple times on its surface and press it firmly with a tool to ensure that the sand ash fully combines with the cement mortar, improving the flatness and strength of the prefabricated panel's surface. Finally, use a scraper to remove all the excess parts, making the surface of the prefabricated panel flat and smooth. This method produces prefabricated panels with relatively high precision and is suitable for projects with high quality requirements for prefabricated panels.

Prefabricated panels come in two types: solid and hollow. Making hollow prefabricated panels is mainly to reduce weight, facilitate transportation and installation, and at the same time save costs and reduce the cost of house construction.
