Henan Mobile Toilet Revolution

Henan has achieved remarkable results in the mobile toilet revolution, covering multiple aspects such as rural areas, cities, and corporate support.

In rural areas, Henan has actively promoted the transformation of dry toilets. Taking Guangwu Village, Maoji Town, Tongbai County, Nanyang City, Henan Province as an example, as of 2026, more than 400 households have completed the transformation of dry toilets, basically achieving the goal of eliminating dry toilets throughout the village. This measure has effectively improved rural sanitation conditions, reduced the risk of disease transmission, enhanced the quality of life for rural residents, and is an important achievement in the improvement of rural living environments.

In terms of cities, Zhengzhou City, as a representative city, has continuously deepened the "toilet revolution." It has incorporated public toilet construction into the overall urban area planning and implemented the "five-synchronization" mechanism, namely synchronous planning, design, construction, acceptance, and commissioning. A total of 1,650 new public toilets have been built and 865 have been upgraded and renovated, achieving all-round optimization of public toilet layout, facilities, maintenance, and systems. In 2021, Zhengzhou was successfully selected as one of the top ten cities in China for convenient toilet use. At the same time, Zhengzhou has issued multiple special management documents, establishing a standardized management pattern with municipal-level coordination, local implementation, and city-wide collaboration. Each district has optimized its maintenance and management model according to local conditions to comprehensively ensure that public toilets are clean and livable. In addition, Zhengzhou's public toilet services focus on being friendly to all age groups and precisely meet the needs of special groups. Relying on key projects such as urban renewal and old residential area renovations, it has continuously promoted the age-friendly, child-friendly, and barrier-free renovations of public toilets. It has also revitalized the ancillary buildings of public toilets, upgraded them into urban stations, and added services such as free drinking water, mobile phone charging, and year-round rest and heating, transforming single toilet spaces into comprehensive convenience service areas.

At the corporate support level, there are enterprises in Henan such as Chengxu Mobile Toilet Rental Factory that provide sales and leasing services for mobile public toilets, ecological public toilets, green public toilets, tourist public toilets, flushing mobile public toilets, and foam-blocking water-saving environmental protection public toilets. This includes a one-stop service covering the research, development, production, and sales of mobile public toilets and related supporting products, as well as technical training. The main business scope covers the leasing of mobile toilets, portable restrooms, construction site toilets, construction toilets, waterless toilets, and ecological toilets, providing equipment support for Henan's mobile toilet revolution.
