Hangzhou Public Mobile Toilets

Admin September 22, 2026

The public mobile toilets in Hangzhou mainly include two types: mobile landscape public toilets and 5G smart toilets, characterized by mobility, functional diversity, and humanized design.

Mobile landscape public toilets represent an innovative attempt in Hangzhou's public toilet construction. Located at the intersection of Qianchao Road and Sanxin Road on the Qiantang River embankment in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, it is the city's first mobile landscape public toilet, officially opened on June 29, 2019. Constructed through factory production and on-site hoisting installation, this toilet only requires pipeline connections to be operational. This construction method not only improves efficiency but also allows for flexible relocation of the toilet based on actual needs, thereby saving construction costs. In terms of functionality, the mobile landscape public toilet is equipped with basic facilities such as urinals, squat toilets, and sinks, and incorporates intelligent features like music playback upon closing the door, automatic flushing upon opening the door, and deodorization and sterilization, enhancing the user experience.

5G smart toilets are another highlight of Hangzhou's public toilet construction. These toilets resemble cafes or tea bars in appearance, featuring glass materials, a two-story structure, and escalators for wheelchair users, reflecting humanized design. Internally, they are equipped with modern facilities such as automatic感应洗手液 (automatic hand sanitizer dispensers), automatic感应水管 (automatic faucets), free mobile phone charging stations, and first aid equipment, meeting diverse user needs. Additionally, they include baby cribs for parents with infants, further enhancing their practicality.

The common features of these public mobile toilets are mobility and humanized design. They can adapt to site changes and be flexibly adjusted according to actual needs while emphasizing aesthetic design, enhancing the city's image. Functionally, they not only meet basic toilet needs but also incorporate intelligent and humanized design elements, improving the user experience.
