Hangzhou Outdoor Mobile Toilet
There is a mobile scenic public toilet located at the intersection of Qianchao Road and Sanxin Road on the Qiantang River embankment in Hangzhou, which is the first movable scenic public toilet in the city. Here are the details:

Construction Background and Opening Hours
This public toilet was jointly constructed by the Jianggan District Urban Management Bureau, which introduced technology from Xiamen, and the Sijiqing Subdistrict. It officially opened on June 29, 2019. Its original design purpose was to address the toilet needs around the Qiantang River embankment while exploring the feasibility of movable public toilets to provide references for subsequent promotion.
Technical Features and Functional Advantages
The public toilet adopts a prefabricated model of overall factory production and on-site hoisting installation, requiring only the connection of water and electricity pipelines to be put into use. This construction method significantly shortens the construction period, and the location can be adjusted according to actual needs in the later stage, effectively saving construction costs. The interior is fully equipped with basic facilities such as urinals, squat toilets, and hand-washing basins, and an intelligent management system is introduced: music is automatically played when the door is closed to enhance the user experience, automatic flushing is triggered when the door is opened, and deodorizing and sterilizing equipment is equipped to ensure environmental hygiene.
Service Details and Pilot Effect
Eye-catching signs are set up around the public toilet to facilitate citizens' search. During the pilot period, the opening hours are from 6:00 to 22:00 every day, covering the main activity periods. Based on user feedback, relevant departments plan to add similar mobile public toilets near the Qiantang River embankment to further optimize the layout of public services.
Social Significance and Promotion Value
As the first movable scenic public toilet in Hangzhou, its successful pilot has verified the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of prefabricated public toilets. Such public toilets are particularly suitable for areas with high pedestrian traffic but limited land resources, such as scenic spots and transportation hubs, and may become an important direction for urban public facility construction in the future.
