Temporary Mobile Toilets

There have been cases in Hangzhou where well-equipped temporary mobile toilets were locked. For example, a temporary mobile toilet in a parking lot was found to be temporarily set up by the construction party, as responded by the town government. Subsequently, relevant departments stated that they would standardize management methods and post clear notices to avoid similar situations causing inconvenience to citizens and ensure that temporary mobile toilets can serve those in need normally.

Mobile Scenic Public Toilets

• Location: Located at the intersection of Qianchao Road and Sanxin Road on the Qiantang River embankment in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province (opposite Tianyuan Building on the embankment).
• Completion Status: It is the first movable scenic public toilet in Hangzhou, introduced from Xiamen and jointly built by the Jianggan District Urban Management Bureau and Sijiqing Street under the guidance of the Hangzhou Municipal Urban Management Bureau. It was officially opened on June 29, 2019.
• Construction Method: It is produced in its entirety in a factory and then transported to the site for hoisting and installation. It only needs to be connected to pipelines to be put into use. The advantage of this construction method is that the location can be adjusted according to actual needs in the later stage, effectively saving construction costs.
• Internal Facilities: It is fully equipped with basic facilities such as urinals, squat toilets, and sinks. At the same time, it also has some intelligent and user-friendly functions, such as playing music when the door is closed, automatic flushing when the door is opened, and deodorization and sterilization functions, providing users with a comfortable and hygienic toilet environment.
• Opening Hours: During the pilot period, the opening hours are from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Plan: As a pilot project, if the usage effect is good, the management department plans to add 1-2 or 2-4 similar mobile scenic public toilets on the road sections near the Qiantang River embankment to further optimize the layout of public toilets in the area and improve the toilet experience for citizens and tourists.
