Hangzhou Internet-Famous Mobile Toilet
The internet-famous mobile toilet in Hangzhou typically refers to the mobile landscape public toilet located at the intersection of Qianchao Road and Sanxin Road on the Qiantang River embankment in Hangzhou. This public toilet is the first mobile landscape public toilet in Hangzhou, introduced by the Jianggan District Urban Management Bureau from Xiamen and jointly built with Sijiqing Street. It officially opened on June 29, 2019.

I. Construction Features
This public toilet adopts a factory-based integrated production model. After the main structure is prefabricated in the factory, it is transported to the site by vehicles for hoisting and installation. The installation process only requires connecting water, electricity, and sewage pipelines to be put into use, eliminating the need for large-scale on-site construction. This construction method significantly shortens the project duration while reducing the impact of construction on the surrounding environment. Additionally, its mobility is a core advantage—when the surrounding environment or usage needs change, the public toilet can be relocated in its entirety to a new location using hoisting equipment, avoiding the resource waste caused by the fixed location of traditional public toilets and effectively saving construction costs.
II. Functional Design
The interior facilities are fully equipped, covering basic functional areas such as urinals, squat toilets, and sinks to meet the usage needs of different groups of people. In terms of intelligence, the public toilet incorporates multiple innovative technologies: it automatically plays light music when the door is closed to enhance the user experience; triggers an automatic flushing system when the door is opened to reduce manual operations; and is equipped with deodorizing and sterilizing devices that continuously purify the air through physical or chemical means to maintain a fresh interior environment. These designs not only reflect humanistic care but also align with the modern development trend of public facilities.
III. Social Significance
As the first mobile landscape public toilet in Hangzhou, its construction model provides new ideas for urban public facility planning. Through modular design and flexible relocation characteristics, it addresses the issues of difficult site selection and high renovation costs associated with traditional public toilets, making it particularly suitable for scenarios such as temporary event venues and scenic area expansions. At the same time, its exterior design harmonizes with the surrounding environment, combining practicality with landscape value, and serving as a typical case of improving the quality of urban public spaces.
