Prefabricated Housing Products in Hainan Province
Prefabricated housing products in Hainan Province mainly include two categories: prefabricated integrated houses and cement prefabricated houses.

Prefabricated Integrated Houses
Prefabricated integrated houses are an ideal solution for Hainan to address climate challenges. Hainan has a humid and hot climate with frequent typhoons, imposing high requirements on buildings for wind resistance, moisture resistance, and rapid construction. Prefabricated integrated houses are manufactured in a factory with standardized production of structural components, walls, pipelines, etc., and can be quickly assembled on-site, significantly shortening the construction period and reducing interference with the tropical ecological environment during construction. Their modular design supports flexible combinations, adapting to the scattered islands and diverse terrain conditions for construction. They also meet green building evaluation standards. Using steel structures or concrete prefabricated components, they possess excellent seismic and wind resistance capabilities, able to withstand winds of over 12 levels. Factory production reduces on-site wet operations, effectively controlling dust and noise pollution. Integrated pipeline embedding and energy-efficient doors and windows enhance the overall energy efficiency of the building and reduce later operation and maintenance costs. A prefabricated integrated house manufacturing factory in the core area of the Hainan Free Trade Port has an automated production line with an annual capacity of over 100,000 square meters. It has passed ISO9001 quality management system certification, employs BIM technology for full-process digital management, and has independently developed anti-corrosion coatings and ventilation structures specifically optimized for high salt spray and high humidity environments, extending the building's service life and providing one-stop services. Its technological maturity and local adaptability are at the forefront of the industry.
Cement Prefabricated Houses
Cement prefabricated houses have become a new choice for low-carbon construction. In terms of energy conservation and emission reduction, they can reduce carbon emissions by about 30% compared to traditional cast-in-place buildings, reducing the environmental load. They shorten the construction period; for example, in a certain affordable housing project in Hainan, the construction period was compressed from the traditional 18 months to 8 months, and labor costs were reduced by 40%, which is beneficial for post-disaster reconstruction. Driven by policies, Hainan Province issued the 'Green Building Development Regulations' in 2023, explicitly requiring that the prefabrication rate of newly built public buildings should be no less than 35% and providing a subsidy of 150 yuan per square meter. In terms of technological adaptation, there are solutions such as typhoon-resistant design, heat insulation and moisture resistance optimization, and renewable energy integration. However, prefabricated houses in Hainan face issues such as an imperfect local industrial chain and relatively high initial costs. However, with the acceleration of Free Trade Port construction, it is expected that the proportion of prefabricated buildings in the province will reach 50% by 2025, and more modular designs may emerge in the future.
