Guyuan Container House Specification Diagram

Admin September 15, 2026

The common specifications of container houses in Guyuan are mainly based on domestic standard dimensions, with a typical size of 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.9 meters in height. Some customized products can adjust dimensions or functional modules.

I. Standard Specifications and Structural Features

Container houses typically adopt two structural forms:

  1. Shipping Container Modification: Directly utilize retired shipping containers (such as 20-foot and 40-foot containers) for internal modification, retaining the original steel structural framework. The dimensions are fixed at 6 meters in length × 2.4 meters in width × 2.9 meters in height (common export dimensions) or 6 meters in length × 3 meters in width × 2.9 meters in height (common domestic dimensions). Such houses have strong load-bearing capacity (a 20-foot container can bear approximately 25 tons), but the indoor space is limited, requiring combined design to expand functionality.
  2. Factory-Customized Structure: Utilize a steel structural framework paired with color-steel sandwich panel walls, with flexible and adjustable dimensions. For example, the container houses produced by Xi'an Jimei have dimensions of 3 meters in length × 6 meters in width, use galvanized steel materials, have a service life of over 20 years, and possess wind, earthquake, and fire resistance properties.

II. Functional Modules and Customized Design

Container houses can meet diverse needs through modular combinations:

  • Basic Modules: Include shower rooms, restrooms, conference rooms, etc., which can be freely combined to form temporary accommodations, construction site offices, commercial exhibition spaces, and other scenarios. For example, the camp for the port expansion project in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, uses a combination of 28 light steel structural movable panel houses and 7 light steel prefabricated villas, covering functions such as office, accommodation, and cultural and sports activities.
  • Customized Design: Adjust dimensions, appearance, and functions according to application scenarios. For example, a project in Ningxia uses low-alloy high-strength structural steel containers to meet the needs of super high-rise buildings; a 15-square-meter mini home in the forest enhances living comfort by adding a terrace, solar panels, and a deformable open design.

III. Application Scenarios and Cases

Container houses are widely used in temporary or mobile scenarios:

  • Construction Sites: Provide living and office facilities, such as the Qianmen project of Beijing Metro Line 8.
  • Emergency Medical Care: Quickly set up medical stations and emergency centers, such as the Nepal Healthcare Institute project.
  • Commerce and Cultural Tourism: Temporary shops, exhibition halls, homestays, etc., such as a 120-square-meter villa residence transformed from four high-appearance container houses, achieving space expansion through staggered terrace design.
