Guizhou Wengan Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

Currently, there is no detailed introduction specifically targeting container houses in Wengan, Guizhou. However, Wengan has focused on the construction and operation of the Yunzhong Port Area of Wengan Port as the core in container applications, driving regional logistics and economic development. The following provides an introduction from four aspects: port construction, functional positioning, operational effectiveness, and regional impact.

The Yunzhong Port Area of Wengan Port is the first standardized and intelligent container-specific terminal in Guizhou Province. Located in Banshui Village, Tianwen Town, Wengan County, it is situated in the core area of the Qianzhong Economic Zone, with major central cities within a 100-kilometer radius, offering significant geographical advantages. The port area officially commenced trial operations on December 16, 2025, filling the gap in specialized container operations at inland ports in Guizhou. Its wharf is 160 meters long, covering an area of approximately 50,000 square meters. It has newly built two 500-ton container-specific berths that can also accommodate 1,000-ton vessels, along with supporting storage yards, road works, and handling equipment. The designed annual throughput capacity reaches 1.32 million tons, equivalent to 66,400 TEUs.

The port area has a clear functional positioning, primarily serving the phosphorus chemical industry. It undertakes the export transportation of high-value-added phosphorus chemical products such as ammonium sulfate, barium sulfate, and phosphate fertilizers, as well as the import and transit of production and livelihood support materials like grain and phosphate ore. Through a multimodal transportation system combining road, rail, and water, the port area achieves efficient cargo flow. For example, the industrial by-product salt from the Wengfu Jiangshan Industrial Park is shipped in containers along the Wujiang River to the eastern coast; the industrial salt from Guizhou Jiangshan Crop Technology Co., Ltd. is transported by rail container trains to Beibu Gulf Port and then shipped north by sea to Yingkou Port in Liaoning, forming a north-south bidirectional logistics link.

The operational effectiveness is remarkable, with 100% coverage of intelligent operations. The port area adopts a fully data-driven intelligent management and control system, equipped with quayside container cranes, rail-mounted gantry cranes, and other equipment. It also deploys safety devices such as truck anti-lifting systems and large vehicle anti-collision systems, enabling full visibility, measurability, and controllability of all operational elements. Since the trial operations began, a regular cargo route to Fuling, Chongqing, has been opened, with over 950 container throughputs and more than 17,500 tons of bulk chemicals transported. Cargo ships have directly reached ports in Changzhou and Nantong, Jiangsu, as well as Yingkou, Liaoning.

The port area's construction has a profound impact on the regional economy. As the core node of the regional logistics artery, the Yunzhong Port Area of Wengan Port works in synergy with the Wengma Railway, reducing comprehensive logistics costs and opening up an economical and convenient new channel for 'Guizhou products to reach the outside world'. At the same time, by supporting facilities such as collection and distribution roads and the Tianwen Railway Station, the port area has built a three-dimensional collection and distribution network, helping Wengan County establish itself as a regional comprehensive transportation and logistics hub and injecting strong impetus into the high-quality development of the county's economy.
