Guiding Light Steel Prefabricated House

Admin September 18, 2026

The Guiding light steel prefabricated house is a low-rise building constructed using high-strength galvanized aluminum-zinc or galvanized cold-formed thin-walled steel as the primary material, through standardized design, factory prefabrication, and on-site assembly. It features earthquake resistance, thermal insulation, fire resistance, and environmental friendliness, making it suitable for rural self-built houses, tourist villas, and other scenarios.

Material and Structural Characteristics

The main body of the light steel prefabricated house is made of Q235 or Q345 high-strength galvanized aluminum-zinc/galvanized cold-formed thin-walled steel, which has high yield strength and strong corrosion resistance. Its self-weight is only 1/3 to 1/5 of that of traditional brick-concrete structures. The enclosure system adopts a composite structure: the inner layer is oriented strand board (OSB board) or gypsum board, the middle layer is filled with extruded polystyrene board (XPS) or rock wool board as the thermal insulation layer (thickness 100-150mm), and the outer layer is covered with cement fiber siding, metal carved board, or stone-like paint finish. The overall heat transfer coefficient K value is controlled between 0.4-0.6 W/(m²·K), meeting national energy-saving standards. The structural system adopts a ribbed plate or truss design, which is reliably connected to the upper light steel frame through strip foundations/raft foundations. The spacing and cross-sectional dimensions of the frame members (columns, floor beams, roof truss beams) are strictly calculated and determined. The connection nodes are fixed with self-tapping screws, bolts, or special connectors, forming a stable diaphragm effect structure.

Functional and Performance Advantages

  1. Earthquake Resistance: The light steel structure belongs to a flexible system with light self-weight and good ductility. It can absorb seismic energy through deformation, with a seismic fortification intensity of up to 8 degrees, significantly superior to traditional masonry structures.
  2. Fire Resistance: Although the light steel frame itself is non-combustible, it requires wrapping with 12-15mm thick fire-resistant gypsum board or spraying with fire-resistant coatings on the outer side of the frame to meet the requirements of a Class II fire resistance rating (with a fire resistance limit of the members of ≥1.0 hour).
  3. Sound Insulation: By filling with rock wool/glass wool sound insulation materials and using multi-layer board composites, the sound insulation capacity of the walls can reach 40-45dB, meeting the quiet requirements of residential buildings.
  4. Environmental Friendliness: The steel can be recycled 100%, and the enclosure materials (such as OSB boards and rock wool boards) comply with environmental standards. The construction process involves no wet operations, reducing construction waste.

Application Scenarios and Specifications

This type of house is widely used in rural self-built houses, tourist resort villas, campsite caravans, and low-rise public buildings (such as offices, schools, hospitals). Its construction must comply with national standards such as the Technical Specification for Cold-Formed Thin-Walled Steel Structures (GB 50018-2002) and the Technical Specification for Low-Rise Cold-Formed Thin-Walled Steel Buildings (JGJ 227-2011) to ensure structural safety and performance compliance.
