Guangzhou Container Creative Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

There are several representative container creative house projects in Guangzhou, which have become models for innovative utilization of urban space with their unique architectural forms and diverse functions.

Xueshan Cultural and Creative Park

Located at the foot of Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou, it was formerly the industrial park of five village communities in Yongtai Village. Now, it has been transformed into a compound, multi-channel online celebrity industrial base and live-streaming mall. The park uses a large number of discarded containers arranged in a staggered manner to form a colorful and creative space. It covers an area of about 90,000 square meters and is divided into five functional areas: A, B, C, D, and E. Among them, Area A is a geek creative living space. The rooftop photovoltaic power station in Area B is composed of more than 130 containers, with a building area of nearly 30,000 square meters. It provides nearly 200 office spaces and focuses on creating business incubators and co-working spaces, which are highly favored by young entrepreneurs.

Tunan Neighborhood Container Creative Market

Located next to Qingsheng High-Speed Railway Station in Dongyong Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou, it is a temporary market set up by the government for the street-vendor economy, with supporting public service facilities. The project uses standardized containers and transforms the 'iron boxes' into interesting 'alleyways' through design techniques such as elevation, cantilevering, and split-level arrangements. It integrates functions such as retail, catering, entertainment, leisure, and culture and art, with a building area of about 1,950 square meters. The design takes 'seeing the hustle and bustle of life through container windows' as the theme, showcasing the various aspects of people's livelihood through container windows and reflecting the inclusiveness of the city.

Container Creative Industrial Park in Yongtai Village, Baiyun District

It is composed of more than 280 'retired' international standard containers stacked together, located at the western foot of Baiyun Mountain with a tranquil environment. The containers are welded and reinforced to form different office spaces, creating detached and row-house office buildings with a total area of 30,000 square meters. The park is surrounded by greenery, and the containers are painted in various bright colors. Some office areas are equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows, glass skylights, and aerial corridors. The interior is paved with wooden floors and installed with air conditioners, with decorations similar to ordinary office buildings. In addition, the park has introduced national new energy rooftop photovoltaic power generation, with an annual power generation of about 114,800 kWh, which can meet production and living needs.
