Mobile Toilets in Guangdong
In Guangdong, mobile toilets mainly include two types: tidal toilets and those available for rent or purchase.
Tidal Toilets
Tidal toilets represent an innovative attempt by Guangdong to optimize the allocation of public toilet resources. Huizhou West Lake Scenic Area in Guangdong once installed "tidal toilets," which featured manually adjustable "toggleable signs" at the entrance to switch between gender displays. However, the low threshold for altering these signs meant that ordinary tourists could easily change them, leading to confusion between male and female restroom areas. Currently, all toggleable signs in the tidal toilets involved have been removed and are set to be replaced with fixed slot-type door plates to enhance the stability and accuracy of the signs. Additionally, some parks and scenic spots in Shenzhen, Dongguan, and other areas have also successively trialed "tidal toilets." These toilets are equipped with several "gender-neutral universal stalls" and use movable signs or lockable sliding doors to dynamically adjust access permissions based on real-time foot traffic. For example, during peak female restroom usage periods, some male stalls can be temporarily converted to female stalls, effectively alleviating the problem of female restroom shortages.
Mobile Toilet Rental and Sales
In addition to tidal toilets, enterprises in Guangdong also offer mobile toilet rental services. For instance, Wanhe Environmental Sanitation is a company specializing in the rental and production of portable restrooms. Their products come in a variety of styles and can be customized according to customer needs. They also provide pre-sales, in-sales, and after-sales tracking services to ensure customers receive timely support and assistance during use. Meanwhile, several companies in Guangzhou also sell mobile toilets, with prices ranging from several hundred to several thousand yuan. These mobile toilets are characterized by their portability, quick installation, and flexible use, making them suitable for various temporary or mobile settings, such as construction sites, outdoor events, and exhibitions. For example, the simple mobile toilet from Guangzhou Haoyuan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. is priced at 2,300 yuan, while the customized container mobile toilet from Guangzhou Jinge Steel Structure Engineering Co., Ltd. is priced at 888 yuan. Customers can choose the appropriate mobile toilet based on their needs and budget.
