Grassland Container Mobile House

Admin September 15, 2026

The grassland container mobile house is a movable building based on standard freight containers, redesigned and transformed to have multiple functions such as living, office, and commercial use, suitable for outdoor scenarios like grasslands. Its characteristics and applications are as follows:

Structure and Materials

The container mobile house uses high-strength steel as its framework, providing good compressive and seismic resistance. For example, the products of Baotou Xinxing Color Plate Steel Structure Manufacturing Co., Ltd. adopt a combination of galvanized steel frames and rock wool sandwich panels. In the factory, the walls, roof, and floor are integrated into a rigid unit. Before leaving the factory, the main structure, interior and exterior wall decorations, and pipeline embeddings have been completed. On-site installation only requires lifting and joint treatment, reducing construction errors from the centimeter level to the millimeter level.

Thermal Insulation

In response to the characteristics of severe cold in winter and large temperature differences in summer in grassland areas, container mobile houses generally adopt a multi-layer structure to improve thermal performance. The outer layer is galvanized sheet to resist wind and sand erosion, the middle layer is filled with 80 to 100 mm thick rock wool as the main insulation layer, and the inner layer uses PVC-coated steel sheet to reduce thermal radiation. Some companies also add an elevated layer at the bottom of the container to block the conduction of ground cold bridges. For example, Baotou Camp Container House Company reduces the heat exchange efficiency between the inside and outside of the container by about 40% through a broken-bridge lining structure, and the indoor temperature in winter can be 8 to 10 degrees Celsius higher than the outside.

Functional Zoning

The fixed size of the container (commonly 3 meters by 6 meters) forces designers to adopt a functional overlapping strategy. The kitchen and bathroom are compressed to one end of the container to form a wet area, using integrated bathroom technology for waterproof integration; the living and sleeping areas achieve day-night functional switching through the variability of furniture, such as wall-mounted folding tables and drop-down beds. This zoning method requires residents to plan their item storage systematically; otherwise, the actual usable area will shrink by more than 20%.

Environmental Protection and Recycling

The core value of container mobile houses lies in the full life-cycle recycling of materials. Each standard 20-foot container consumes about 1.2 tons of steel, and the carbon emissions of a traditional concrete temporary house of the same area are 2.3 times that. When the campsite is relocated or the project is completed, the container house can be lifted as a whole to a new site, with the disassembly and assembly loss rate controlled within 5%, significantly reducing construction waste generation.
