German Male Portable Toilet

Admin October 02, 2026

Currently, there are no mature products or design cases specifically targeting 'German male portable toilets,' but Germany has some relevant practices in the field of toilet innovation that can serve as references.

Portable Toilets

German designer Eva Tint once introduced a foldable portable toilet device. Made from eco-friendly materials, this device measures approximately 12×28 centimeters when folded, making it easy to carry and store. It is equipped with a super-absorbent agent inside to effectively prevent leakage, ensuring hygiene and safety during use. Initially aimed primarily at female users, this portable toilet was designed to address long waiting times in public restrooms. Later, its application scenarios expanded to outdoor activities such as car travel. Although not specifically designed for men, its portability and practicality make it suitable for male users as well.

Gender-Neutral Toilets

Bielefeld University in Germany and the Berlin municipal government have established gender-neutral toilets. The primary purpose of these toilets is to meet the needs of gender diversity and provide convenience for minority groups such as transgender individuals. Gender-neutral toilets typically feature a design without gender-specific signs, and their internal facilities cater to the needs of users of different genders. Although not specifically designed for men, they reflect Germany's emphasis on inclusivity and equality in toilet design and offer new ideas for the design of portable toilets.

'Gentleman's Toilet' Design

The 'Gender-Shared' toilet (Gentolet) designed by Taiwanese university students won the German Red Dot Design Award. This design optimizes resource allocation by placing the less frequently used toilet stalls for men in the middle between male and female restrooms, effectively alleviating the problem of long queues in female restrooms. However, there is currently no clear information indicating whether this design is portable. Nevertheless, this innovative design concept provides references for the future design of portable toilets, such as being more flexible and efficient in spatial layout and functional settings.
