Gansu Mobile Toilet Maintenance
The maintenance of mobile toilets in Gansu currently faces certain difficulties, and comprehensive consideration of multiple factors is required for both maintenance and relocation.

Taking a specific case as an example, the mobile public toilet at the entrance of Yintan Zehua Primary School in Qilihe District, Lanzhou City, has experienced aging issues due to its long service life. The circuit board has suffered serious failures, resulting in its inability to operate normally. At the same time, this public toilet is located on a construction road section, facing problems such as ground subsidence, occupation of the sidewalk for the blind, and obstruction of pedestrian passage. It no longer meets the conditions for placement and was ultimately removed on July 4, 2024. This case reflects that some mobile toilets in Gansu are prone to damage and difficult to repair due to factors such as long service time and complex surrounding environments. They may even be removed due to their inability to meet basic usage and safety requirements.
In terms of maintaining and relocating mobile toilets, Gansu faces some practical problems. The limited special funds for public toilets restrict the ability to carry out large-scale maintenance or upgrades of mobile toilets. Insufficient funds may lead to the inability to purchase high-quality repair parts in a timely manner or bear the costs of professional maintenance personnel, thereby affecting the progress and effectiveness of maintenance work. The difficulty in recruiting management personnel is also a prominent issue. The daily management and maintenance of mobile toilets require professional staff, but recruiting suitable management personnel is not easy. Without professional management personnel, even if the mobile toilets are repaired, subsequent management issues may arise, affecting their normal use.
In response to these problems, relevant departments have taken certain measures. After the new public toilets are purchased, they will communicate and coordinate with the sub-district offices to plan the installation of additional toilets at locations that meet the placement conditions in a comprehensive manner. This means that when addressing the issue of mobile toilets, attention is not only paid to maintenance but also to the rationality and scientificity of relocation, ensuring that the new mobile toilets can meet actual needs and avoiding situations similar to the previous one where they could not be used due to environmental problems.
