Dimensions of Fully Prefabricated Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The dimensions of fully prefabricated houses (prefabricated concrete houses) are divided into two categories: standard dimensions and customized dimensions, as detailed below:

I. Standard Dimensions

Standard dimensions are centered around modular design, balancing transportation convenience and installation efficiency. Common specifications are as follows:

  • 3m × 6m: Suitable for small temporary structures such as construction site offices, duty rooms, or temporary storage. These dimensions facilitate loading onto conventional transportation vehicles (e.g., trucks) and offer short installation periods and lower costs.
  • 4m × 8m: Medium-sized, commonly used for rural self-built houses, storage facilities, or small shops. The space meets basic residential or commercial needs while maintaining the economic benefits of modular design.
  • 5m × 10m: Larger space, suitable for family homes, community activity centers, or commercial buildings. These dimensions offer greater functional expandability, accommodating more functional areas (e.g., bedrooms, living rooms, or office spaces).

II. Customized Dimensions

Customized dimensions adjust parameters according to specific needs, offering higher flexibility but requiring consideration of transportation, installation, and foundation bearing capacity:

  • Width: Typically ranges from 3m to 4m, increasing in increments of 10cm (e.g., 3.2m, 3.5m). Special requirements can exceed conventional limits, such as 7.2m or 7.6m, but require additional structural support design.
  • Length: Adjusted flexibly according to site conditions, such as an outer diameter of 6.6m or longer. Some projects support segmented assembly to extend length, but structural stability at connection points must be ensured.
  • Other Parameters: Height and number of floors (single-story/double-story/triple-story) can be customized. For example, single-story height typically ranges from 2.8m to 3.2m, while double-story or triple-story structures require increased beam and column strength.

III. Special Design Requirements

  • Span Limitations: The common maximum width for single-story, double-story, and triple-story prefabricated concrete houses is 12m, with lengths customizable according to needs (e.g., double-story length of 5m, triple-story length of 7m). If spans exceed conventional dimensions, special customization and structural reinforcement (e.g., adding steel beams or concrete reinforcement) are required.
  • Cost and Efficiency: Standard dimensions offer lower costs and shorter periods due to large production batches and mature processes; customized dimensions require separate mold making or production line adjustments, resulting in higher costs and longer periods.

Dimension Selection Advice: If the purpose is temporary or the budget is limited, prioritize standard dimensions; for long-term use, special site conditions, or complex functions, consider customized dimensions, but evaluate transportation routes (e.g., bridge height limits, road width) and foundation bearing capacity in advance.
