Fuling Container House Transportation

Admin September 15, 2026

Fuling's container house transportation mainly relies on the local port and multimodal transportation system, combining road, rail, and waterway transport to achieve efficient and low-cost operations.

I. Port Infrastructure and Functions

Fuling District boasts two major hub ports, Huangqi Port and Longtou Port, which serve as core nodes for container transportation:

  1. Huangqi Port

    • Located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, it is one of the three regional hub ports planned by Chongqing Municipality, with a total coastline length of 672 meters. It features multifunctional berths and heavy-duty roll-on/roll-off berths, with a maximum lifting capacity of 50 tons.
    • It has a 55,000-square-meter container yard and a 15,000-square-meter warehouse, equipped with a dedicated regulatory warehouse for foreign trade goods, enabling the completion of "one-stop customs clearance" within the port area.
    • In 2024, it handled 53,000 TEUs of waterborne container throughput, undertaking the majority of container import and export tasks in Fuling District.
  2. Longtou Port

    • Situated at the confluence of the Yangtze and Wujiang rivers, it is one of Chongqing's "1+3" hub ports, with its dedicated railway line already in operation, supporting multimodal transportation.
    • In 2024, it regularly operates container trains on the Western Land-Sea Corridor, allowing direct access to Qinzhou Port in Guangxi and transshipment to countries such as Singapore and Malaysia, reducing transportation time by over 10 days compared to traditional river-sea combined transport.

II. Transportation Modes and Routes

  1. Waterway Transportation

    • The Yangtze River Golden Waterway serves as the primary channel, allowing year-round passage of vessels over 5,000 tons.
    • Domestic routes include the "Chongqing Port—Ningbo Zhoushan Port" direct river-sea route; international routes include the "Guizhou Yuqing—Chongqing Fuling—Singapore/Malaysia" train service.
  2. Railway Transportation

    • The dedicated railway line at Longtou Port has been opened, supporting "point-to-point" fast freight trains, reducing transfer links, and enhancing efficiency.
    • For example, goods such as adipic acid are transported by rail from Fuling to Qinzhou Port and then shipped overseas.
  3. Road Transportation

    • The road network connects the ports with inland areas, enabling "door-to-door" delivery.
    • For example, the logistics route from Foshan to Fuling uses enclosed trucks, taking 2-3 days to reach and covering more than 20 townships in Fuling District.

III. Service Guarantees and Advantages

  1. Technological Innovation

    • Huangqi Port has independently designed a bulk-to-container belt conveyor loading operation line, improving bulk cargo handling efficiency and reducing environmental pollution.
  2. Policy Support

    • The railway sector has customized a "price + timeliness + service" strategy to reduce corporate logistics costs.
  3. Environmental Protection Measures

    • The port is equipped with noise reduction equipment, rainwater and sewage collection tanks, and dust control facilities to promote green logistics development.

Fuling's container house transportation has established an efficient and low-cost logistics system through port hubs, multimodal transportation, and intelligent services, providing strong support for regional economic development.
