Free-Assembly Prefabricated Concrete House

Admin September 18, 2026

The free-assembly prefabricated concrete house is an assembled house centered around prefabricated reinforced concrete modules, utilizing factory production and modular assembly. The following is an introduction from the aspects of characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, styles, and prices:

Characteristics:
The core process involves using high-precision molds to cast core components such as walls, floors, and beams and columns in one go at a specialized production base. Each module integrates multiple structures including a steel reinforcement framework, insulation layer, waterproof layer, and pre-embedded pipelines, allowing for flexible combination.

Advantages:

  • High Efficiency: A single 30㎡ module takes only 7 days for factory prefabrication. During on-site installation, three workers with a crane can complete the installation of a single module in 4 hours, and the overall construction of a 100㎡ house takes only 2 days.
  • Low Cost: Taking a 120㎡ self-built rural house as an example, the cost of a traditional brick-and-mortar structure is approximately 180,000 - 220,000 yuan (including labor), while the cost of the main modules of the concrete house is only 120,000 - 150,000 yuan. With interior and exterior decoration, the total cost can be controlled within 200,000 yuan, reducing the overall cost by 30%. If the rental model is chosen, the annual rent can be as low as 5,000 yuan per room. There are also cases showing that for a house of about 200 square meters, at 300 yuan per square meter, a whole building only costs 60,000 yuan.
  • Green and Environmentally Friendly: The entire factory production process is controllable, with a 95% recovery rate of off-cuts. There is no dust or sewage discharge at the construction site, and the construction waste is only 10% of that of traditional house construction. Environmentally friendly concrete and water-based paints are used for materials, with formaldehyde emissions ≤ 0.05mg/m³, far below the national standard (0.1mg/m³), truly achieving 'move-in ready'.
  • Flexible House Type: The standard module size is 6m × 3m × 3m (length, width, and height). Horizontal splicing and vertical stacking (up to 3 floors) can be used to achieve free house type design.

Disadvantages:

  • Connection Issues: The connection between each prefabricated component is crucial. If the connection is not good, the house may collapse during an earthquake.
  • Water Seepage Issues: As the number of floors increases, the weight borne by the lower prefabricated concrete blocks will multiply. The more splices there are, the greater the probability of water seepage in the later stages. Careful consideration is required when building houses with more floors.

Styles and Prices:
Currently, there are various styles available on the market, such as fully welded, detachable, and modern styles. House prices vary depending on the region and configuration, with common prices around 1,000 - 1,100 yuan per square meter.
