Mobile Toilets in the Field

Admin September 24, 2026

Mobile toilets in the field mainly include four types: pastoral style, waterless, portable folding, and temporary setup. Their designs are all centered around the needs of field scenarios, combining practicality and ecology.

Pastoral-style mobile toilets are commonly found in public areas such as scenic spots, campsites, or parks. Their design emphasizes integration with the natural environment. The roof features a ridged shape covered with thatch, presenting a pastoral appearance. Inside, they are equipped with public washbasins, beauty mirrors, and other facilities. The men's toilets have partitions for privacy, and the wall panels and doors are uniformly colored, making them aesthetically pleasing and fully functional.

Waterless mobile toilets are widely used in agricultural areas. Taking Xingtai as an example, they employ packaging technology, collecting waste in biodegradable bags without the need for a flushing system. This not only reduces construction costs but also eliminates the need for electrical maintenance. The waste can be directly returned to the fields as organic fertilizer, aligning with the concept of agricultural circular economy. The equipment shell is made of weather-resistant polyethylene material, and the base is detachable for easy transportation by tractors. Some models are designed as "backpack-style" single-person toilets that can be carried by farmers into orchards, flexibly adapting to agricultural work scenarios.

Portable folding mobile toilets are specifically designed for wild camping. They use high-strength lightweight materials and support flexible folding for storage. Inside, they are equipped with biodegradable agents and deodorization systems, with some high-end models featuring solar lighting systems to meet nighttime usage needs. During the day, they can be folded to the size of a suitcase and carried in a vehicle, and at night, they unfold into fully functional bathroom units. The waterproof and moisture-proof shell ensures dryness inside during heavy rain, balancing portability and comfort.

Temporary setup toilets are suitable for remote campsites and other areas without fixed facilities. If the ground conditions permit, they can be set up by digging a pit with a shovel and then fixing the toilet tent. It is important to note the pit depth (usually recommended to be 50-80 centimeters) to avoid contaminating groundwater and to ensure proper sanitation. If digging a pit is not suitable, they can be used in combination with folding toilets, garbage bags, and fecal solidifying agents to reduce odor and leakage risks through physical solidification, avoiding environmental pollution.

These mobile toilets, through localized manufacturing and innovative operational models (such as Xingtai's "toilet-fertilizer integration" mechanism), not only solve the toilet problems in field environments but also promote ecological circulation through the resource utilization of waste, embodying the harmonious coexistence of technology and the environment.
