Sewage Disposal of Field Mobile Toilets

Admin September 22, 2026

The sewage disposal methods for field mobile toilets mainly include packing type, water-storage type, microbial degradation type, dry-packing type, or foam-sealing type, and the choice should be made based on specific conditions.

The packing-type sewage disposal system uses biodegradable plastic bags to seal and pack the excreta. When the bags are full, they are replaced by staff with new ones. This method requires no water flushing, is easy to install, and is not limited by water sources, making it highly suitable for water-scarce areas or temporary event venues such as wild construction sites and remote mountainous areas. However, it requires regular replacement of the packing bags, which increases certain maintenance costs.

The water-storage-type sewage disposal system flushes waste into a storage tank through water. When the water level in the tank reaches the preset upper limit, it needs to be transported away. There are two methods for transportation: manual cleaning and suction truck pumping. The former is suitable for small or temporary venues, while the latter is suitable for medium to large venues or long-term use scenarios. This method requires an adequate water source and easy cleaning, making it suitable for field areas with good water conditions.

The microbial degradation type uses microorganisms to decompose excreta into organic fertilizers. During transportation, only the degraded residues need to be cleaned up. It requires no external water source or sewage pipe network, is environmentally friendly, and is suitable for scenarios with high environmental protection requirements such as eco-tourism areas and rural areas. However, it is important to note that the microbial environment needs to be regularly maintained to ensure its normal decomposition function.

The dry-packing type uses biodegradable plastic bags to receive excreta, requiring no water at all; the foam-sealing type uses foam generated by a special foaming agent to cover the inside of the toilet bowl, blocking odors and saving water resources. Both methods are suitable for water-scarce field environments and can effectively solve the sewage disposal problems in water-scarce areas.

When choosing the sewage disposal method for field mobile toilets, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as the water source conditions in the field, usage frequency, maintenance costs, and environmental protection requirements. For example, in water-scarce areas with low usage frequency, the packing type, dry-packing type, or foam-sealing type are good choices; in areas with sufficient water sources and frequent usage, the water-storage type may be more appropriate; and in eco-tourism areas with high environmental protection requirements, the microbial degradation type has more advantages.
