Family Mobile Toilet Installation Tips

Admin October 02, 2026

The installation of a family mobile toilet (mobile commode) requires selecting a plan based on structural conditions, strictly following steps, and avoiding common risks. Details are as follows:

I. Basic Installation Steps

  1. Component Inspection and Floor Preparation
Upon receiving the package, immediately check the component list to ensure there are no missing or damaged parts. Before installation, thoroughly clean the floor to remove sand, dust, and other debris to avoid affecting the seal. If the floor is uneven, repair it to a level state in advance.

  2. Offset Adapter Installation Specifications

  • Short-distance offset (≤350mm): Preferably use a ready-made offset adapter. After chiseling out 20-40mm of the floor slab, embed it, and then sequentially complete floor leveling, waterproofing, and tile laying.
  • Offset distance control: It is recommended to keep the normal offset range within 15 centimeters. Although special models can reach 3 meters, a slope (≥2%) must be set for offsets exceeding 300mm to prevent blockages.
  • Floor slab structure adaptation: If the bathroom has a lowered floor (recessed 250-350mm), the commode can be directly placed, and lightweight bricks or blocks should be used as backfill material to reduce the load; if the floor is not lowered, raise the floor by 180-200mm to embed the sewage horizontal pipe and ensure the waterproof layer covers the raised area.

II. Offset Solution Selection

  1. Same-floor Drainage Technology
  • Floor slab lowering method: Suitable for bathrooms with pre-reserved lowered floor space, allowing free adjustment of the commode position without additional offset.
  • Floor slab raising method: By building a lightweight brick base (height 180-200mm) to embed the sewage pipe, it is suitable for households without elderly members. Note that the step height may affect usability.
  1. Hidden Cistern System
Suitable for large-distance offsets (such as cross-room layouts), it requires installing a vertical pipe tee to connect the horizontal sewage pipe and building a low wall (thickness 180-220mm, height 900-1200mm) to enclose the cistern and piping, combining aesthetics with functionality.

III. Key Pitfall Avoidance Guide

  1. Blockage Risk Prevention and Control
  • When the offset adapter is used for offsets exceeding 400mm, the probability of blockage significantly increases. It is recommended to prioritize rearranging the sewage pipes or switching to a wall-mounted commode.
  • For long-distance offsets (such as 3 meters), professional design of the drainage slope is required to avoid excessive pipe bends causing poor drainage.
  1. Odor and Sealing Issues
  • Avoid using low-cost simple commodes, as their sealing structures are prone to aging, leading to odors and splashing.
  • During installation, ensure that the flange ring (the connection between the commode and the sewage pipe) is tightly fitted to the floor, and use glass glue for reinforcement if necessary.
  1. Construction Detail Specifications
  • Before using an offset adapter, the floor slab must be chiseled out to the specified depth. Direct laying on the original floor is strictly prohibited.
  • When raising the floor or building a base, prefer lightweight materials such as foam concrete and aerated bricks to prevent overloading the floor slab.

Other suggestions: If the bathroom layout is restricted, combine a hidden cistern embedded in the wall or run the sewage pipe along the ceiling (requiring professional waterproofing) to optimize space. Before installation, be sure to contact customer service to confirm the model's compatibility and strictly follow the instructions.
