Planning Principles for Mobile Toilets in Factory Areas

Admin October 06, 2026

The planning of mobile toilets in factory areas should adhere to five key principles: precise site selection, terrain adaptation, traffic reservation, safety regulations, and hygiene management. The specific points are as follows:

Precise Site Selection and Functional Configuration
The location of toilets should be determined based on the functional zoning of the factory area. Fixed stations must be set up between the living area and the work area, with one toilet stall allocated for every 20 workers, and temporary units added during peak hours. Toilets near hazardous work areas must use explosion-proof electrical equipment to prevent accidents caused by sparks. In rough environments such as construction sites, prefabricated mobile toilets are preferred due to their earthquake and impact resistance, which can adapt to construction machinery operations.

Terrain and Drainage Conditions
Site selection should avoid low-lying areas prone to water accumulation, prioritizing flat and dry locations. If a direct sewage discharge model is used, the distance between the toilet and the municipal sewer network or septic tank should be ≤50 meters to reduce pipeline laying costs. The septic tank capacity should be calculated at 0.15m³ per person, and it should be ≥3 meters away from the toilet main body to prevent odor backflow.

Traffic and Transportation Convenience
When planning, a lifting channel with a width of ≥4 meters should be reserved to ensure that mobile toilets can be accurately lifted to the designated location using lifting equipment. The turning radius of the channel should be ≥12 meters to avoid restrictions on large vehicle operations. If the factory roads are narrow, a segmented transportation plan can be planned in advance to complete equipment assembly in batches.

Electrical and Water Supply and Drainage Safety Regulations
The electrical system must be equipped with an independent leakage protection circuit breaker with a rated current of ≤10A. The wires should be laid underground through galvanized steel pipes (buried depth ≥0.5 meters) to prevent damage from mechanical rolling. Night lighting should be equipped with an emergency power supply to maintain at least 2 hours of power supply. The water supply pipes should be made of PPR material, and heat tracing belts should be installed in northern regions during winter to prevent freezing. The drainage pipe diameter should be ≥110mm, with a slope of more than 2% to avoid blockage. The septic tank should be equipped with a ventilation opening and regularly cleaned of sediment.

Hygiene and Safety Management System
A three-level cleaning system should be established: basic cleaning (including disinfection of door handles and flush buttons) every 2 hours, deep cleaning with high-pressure steam equipment daily, and a comprehensive inspection of equipment conditions (such as water tank sealing and circuit aging) weekly. The toilet should be equipped with consumables such as hand dryers and deodorizers, and an opinion feedback box should be set up to continuously optimize the user experience.
