Express Prefabricated Housing

Admin September 17, 2026

"Express prefabricated housing" generally refers to modular construction, which involves breaking down a building into individual modules, manufacturing them in a factory, and then transporting them to the site for assembly. It represents a more integrated model within prefabricated construction and has gained popularity in overseas markets.

Significant Advantages

  • Low Cost: In regions with high land and traditional construction costs, such as the UK, Chinese prefabricated houses offer a distinct price advantage. With high overseas labor costs, the modular construction model can save a significant amount of on-site labor, making the cost recovery period more certain and faster.
  • Short Construction Period: Compared to traditional construction, modular construction can shorten the construction cycle by more than 60%. For example, China Construction Science and Industry Group has delivered nearly 20,000 modules, with a notable increase in export orders. The technology is mature, and only public area treatment is required on-site, with less than 10% of the remaining workload.
  • High Precision: In digital workshops, the precision of modular construction can be controlled within 1-2 millimeters, whereas previously, some buildings had precision levels in centimeters or several millimeters, significantly improving construction quality.
  • Recyclability: Steel-structured modular houses can be repeatedly disassembled and relocated, reducing the generation of construction waste while also significantly lowering dust and noise pollution, making them more environmentally friendly.

Good Export Performance

  • Export Growth: From 2015 to 2025, China's prefabricated building exports nearly tripled over a decade, with a remarkable 45% growth rate in the first quarter of 2026.
  • Wide Export Regions: According to Shenzhen Customs data, in the first four months of this year, enterprises across the country exported movable houses worth 1.68 billion yuan through Shenzhen ports, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%, with exports to over 150 countries and regions. China Construction Integration's products are mainly sold to the Australian, New Zealand, and North American markets, with projects in Indonesia also progressing simultaneously.
  • Overseas Application Cases: A British merchant purchased Chinese-made modular elderly care apartments, with 63 modules shipped from a Chinese factory and assembled on-site in just two weeks after arriving at Southampton Port in the UK. In Papua New Guinea, 84 modules shipped from China traveled across the ocean for over a month and were transformed into a fully functional hotel upon arrival.
