Exposure of Mobile Toilets

Admin September 21, 2026

The issues exposed regarding mobile toilets mainly include being accidentally taken onto highways, unreasonable charging and countdown mechanisms, and privacy breaches.

Being Accidentally Taken onto Highways

There was a case where, on May 11th, a woman entered a mobile toilet, which was then loaded onto a vehicle and taken onto the highway. The woman experienced a terrifying journey on the highway. The main reasons for this incident were the driver's failure to carefully inspect the cargo during loading and the lax management of the mobile toilet operator, who lacked a comprehensive inspection mechanism and did not set up obvious warning signs. This reflects safety hazards in the transportation process of mobile toilets, with the operator failing to fulfill their management responsibilities, exposing users to unnecessary risks. To prevent such incidents from happening again, the operator should strengthen management, establish a strict inspection system, set up obvious signs on mobile toilets to remind transporters to inspect carefully, and transporters should also be more meticulous when loading cargo to ensure nothing is overlooked.

Charging and Countdown Issues

A mobile public toilet in Fuzhou was exposed for charging 10 yuan per use and setting up a countdown. The operator explained that the original price was 6 yuan, but due to an increase in the number of users, the toilet became dirty and difficult to clean, so the price was raised to 10 yuan, and the price was clearly marked. The countdown was set up to prevent long queues and excessive occupation of time by individuals, but there was actually no time limit for use. This charging and countdown method has raised public doubts. Although the price was clearly marked, the sudden increase may lack reasonable justification, and the countdown may cause psychological pressure on users. Operators of mobile toilets should fully consider the feelings of users, set reasonable prices, and be more transparent and user-friendly in their charging and operational methods.

Privacy Breach Issues

A citizen in Henan found that the transparent windows of a mobile toilet had no遮挡 (obstruction/cover, here we use 'obstruction' for better expression in English) when using it, and their upper body could be clearly seen from the outside. Moreover, there were many people outside the toilet, making it extremely embarrassing for both inside and outside. This exposes the neglect of privacy protection in the design and construction process of mobile toilets. As public facilities, mobile toilets should fully consider the privacy needs of users, use opaque materials or set up reasonable obstruction measures to ensure the privacy and safety of users during toilet use.
