Eaves Prefabrication of Houses
Common solutions for eaves prefabrication of houses include cast-in-place prefabrication, finished gutter installation, UHPC eaves, prefabricated wavy eaves panels, and GRC eaves. The choice should be based on the scenario, cost, and performance requirements.

1. Cast-in-Place Prefabricated Eaves Solution
Suitable for scenarios involving the construction of parapet walls for newly built houses or the need for customized, long-term fixed eaves. Before construction, accurately measure the width and height of the parapet wall and design eaves dimensions with a projection width of 20-50 cm. If the parapet wall is a masonry structure, tie bars should be embedded in the wall and connected to the steel reinforcement framework of the cast-in-place eaves to enhance overall stability. When forming and pouring concrete, a drainage slope of 1%-2% should be reserved, and a drip line should be set on the outer side of the eaves to prevent rainwater backflow. After the concrete curing period is complete, exterior wall waterproofing and finishing treatments should be carried out to ensure durability. This solution offers a high degree of customization but has a relatively long construction period, making it suitable for scenarios with high structural stability requirements.
2. Finished Gutter Installation Solution
Suitable for later-stage renovations of existing parapet walls, offering the advantages of convenient construction and lower cost. Materials are typically corrosion-resistant options such as aluminum alloy or PVC, matched to the top width of the parapet wall. During installation, use expansion bolts or high-strength structural adhesive to fix the gutter brackets, ensuring stability. The joints of the gutters should be sealed with neutral waterproof adhesive, and dedicated downspouts should be connected to guide rainwater for centralized discharge, preventing rainwater from eroding the wall. This solution does not require complex construction and is suitable for rapid renovations or scenarios with limited budgets.
3. UHPC Eaves
Prefabricated from ultra-high-performance concrete, UHPC eaves have a compressive strength far exceeding that of ordinary concrete, along with excellent tensile and flexural properties. Their advantage lies in the ability to be designed as thin, slender, and long components while maintaining stability and durability. Construction adopts a factory-prefabricated and on-site hoisting approach, significantly shortening outdoor high-altitude work time and reducing safety risks. Suitable for modern buildings with high requirements for structural performance and construction efficiency.
4. Prefabricated Wavy Eaves Panel Process
Commonly seen in self-built houses in Nigeria, the construction process involves: laying wooden forms on the ground, pouring cement mortar and scraping out a wavy shape, curing and hardening, then embedding steel bars and binding wire. During installation, the entire eaves panel is fixed to the top of the exterior wall, and concrete is poured inside to connect it with the ring beam as a whole. This process avoids the complexity of traditional high-altitude formwork, with most procedures completed on the ground, offering high safety and lower cost than stone or metal eaves.
5. GRC Eaves
Prefabricated using glass fiber-reinforced cement material, GRC eaves have significantly improved flexural and tensile strength, with a panel thickness controllable between 15-25 mm, suitable for renovation and transformation of existing buildings. Their high plasticity allows for the replication of complex shapes through molding, meeting customized needs for different architectural styles. During installation, they rely on embedded galvanized steel hangers for mechanical anchoring with the wall's keel. Expansion joints are reserved between panels and filled with weather-resistant sealant to prevent cracking.
