Easy-Assembly Portable Toilet

Admin September 24, 2026

There are two common types of easy-assembly portable toilets, each with its own assembly characteristics.

One type is built by individuals using common materials. For example, a young man constructed a movable toilet using several buckets. The specific steps are as follows: First, make the base. Take a wooden board, install universal wheels on it, place the cut buckets on the board, and fix the buckets to the board with wooden strips. Then, cut the buckets to create an entrance and exit. Wrap and fix the cut edges with wooden boards, extend and heighten them with aluminum-plastic panels, and install bucket lids. Next, install the door. Process a wooden door from wood and attach it to the door frame, thus constructing the main frame. After that, install drainage and shower facilities. Connect an elbow drain pipe at the bottom and install a floor drain. Drill holes in the green bucket to install water pipe connectors, splice PVC pipes to make a showerhead, and connect it properly. Finally, drill a hole in the middle of the base as the toilet drain pipe and install the toilet. The advantages of this type of simple portable toilet are that the materials are relatively easy to obtain, the cost is low, and it can be flexibly designed and assembled according to personal needs and site conditions. However, there may be shortcomings in terms of stability, durability, and sanitary conditions.

The other type is a portable toilet developed by professional design studios, taking the one developed by the Japanese design studio Nendo as an example. It mainly consists of six parts, including a C-shaped seat ring, four lightweight aluminum rods, garbage bags, a large piece of lightweight canvas, a coagulant, and a backpack that can hold all the above items and also store 16 liters of water. The assembly process is relatively simple. Just fix the garbage bag on the C-shaped ring, and then support the C-shaped ring with the four lightweight aluminum rods to form a simple toilet structure. When in use, the user wears the canvas like a raincoat and then sits on the assembled toilet structure. The advantages of this portable toilet are its small size, light weight, ease of carrying and transportation, making it suitable for outdoor activities, emergency rescue, and other scenarios. Moreover, its design is relatively user-friendly and can provide a certain degree of privacy protection.
