Duanzhou Residential Container House

Admin September 15, 2026

Duanzhou residential container houses are modular residential buildings transformed from containers, featuring flexible combination, rapid construction, and mobility. However, attention should be paid to the fire resistance of materials and safety regulations.

I. Types and Characteristics of Duanzhou Residential Container Houses

There are two main types of residential container houses commonly found in the Duanzhou area:

  1. Packing-box container houses: These houses use hot-dip galvanized cold-formed steel frames paired with fire-resistant polyurethane sandwich panels or rock wool panels, providing thermal insulation and fire resistance. These houses can be used independently or stacked in multiple layers, making them suitable for construction site dormitories, temporary office areas, and other scenarios.
  2. Light steel keel houses: These houses adopt cold-formed thin-walled light steel keels as the load-bearing structure, with walls filled with thermal insulation materials (such as glass wool). The appearance and layout can be flexibly customized, making them suitable for long-term use scenarios such as cultural tourism homestays and self-built houses.

II. Fire Safety Requirements for Duanzhou Residential Container Houses

  1. Material Fire Resistance Ratings:
    • Wall and roof panels must use Class A fire-resistant materials (such as rock wool panels, fire-resistant cotton). The use of flammable sandwich materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam is prohibited to reduce fire risks.
  2. Electrical Safety Regulations:
    • Wires and cables should be equipped with protective sleeves. Socket and switch boxes should be made of metal galvanized boxes and installed openly to avoid fires caused by electrical circuit failures.
  3. Safety Distances and Layout:
    • A minimum safety distance of at least 6 meters must be maintained between container houses to prevent the spread of fire. Heat sources and fire sources should be kept away from the houses, and open-flame operations should maintain a safe distance.

III. Suitable Scenarios and Advantages of Duanzhou Residential Container Houses

  1. Temporary Needs:
    • Suitable for scenarios such as construction site dormitories, emergency housing, and cultural tourism facilities. They can be quickly constructed and repeatedly disassembled, reducing construction periods and costs.
  2. Long-term Residential Needs:
    • Light steel keel houses can meet long-term residential needs such as homestays and elderly care housing through customized designs. They have a service life of up to 30 years and are low-carbon and environmentally friendly.
