Production of Dry Toilets and Portable Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

Dry toilets and portable toilets can be made using materials such as water storage tanks, pallets, plastic buckets, and water barrels. Here are the specific methods:

Production Using Water Storage Tanks and Pallets

  • Materials Required: Plastic pallets, casters, water storage tanks, angle grinders, self-tapping screws, hole-opening tools, elbows, water pipes, glue, toilets, faucets, pipe caps, stainless steel basins, wooden boards, hinges, door handles, etc.
  • Production Steps:
    • Fix casters at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet, place the water storage tank on it, and use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line on the top, removing one side of the top to form an open tank.
    • Invert another open-top water storage tank and stack it on the first tank. Secure the outer frame with self-tapping screws. Cut out a rectangular opening measuring 180 centimeters in height and 50 centimeters in width as the doorway, and make corresponding cuts on the tank body.
    • Make a hole in the floor inside the water storage tank, insert an elbow and connect a water pipe. Seal the gaps with glue, cut off the excess water pipe, install the toilet, and secure it with glue.
    • Secure the water pipe with wall clips, install the faucet, fix a pipe cap with screws below it, connect the water pipe, and create an outlet for the drainage pipe. Make a hole in the pipe cap, apply glass glue, and secure a stainless steel basin as the sink.
    • Connect the water inlet pipe to the toilet tank, install the shower hose, bracket, and toilet seat. Install a showerhead made of a water pipe.
    • Bring in wooden boards, fix hinges on the frame of the water storage tank, attach the other side to a wooden box to form a door, and install a door handle.

Production Using Plastic Buckets

  • Materials Required: Plastic buckets, wheel assemblies, wooden strips, composite wooden boards, iron sheets, wooden floors, anti-corrosion paint, large trash cans, water pipe connectors, PVC pipes, strong glue, tees, toilets, epoxy resin glue, etc.
  • Production Steps:
    • Cut the bucket at the one-third mark. Install wheel assemblies at the bottom. Hammer in several wooden strips on the bucket body to increase its height. Make two slits as the doorway for the toilet. Fix two composite wooden boards on the edges of the iron sheet, place the iron sheet in the middle of the raised wooden strips, cover the top with a cut plastic bucket, and overlap the iron sheet connections to prevent peeping.
    • Apply anti-corrosion paint on the wooden strips. Make the toilet doorway with wooden floors that have overlapping screws installed. Install hinges and test the door opening and closing.
    • Drill holes to install drainage holes. Take a large trash can for modification. Drill holes in the body and bottom of the can and install water pipe connectors to serve as a water storage tank. Make a showerhead with a PVC pipe and drill holes in it.
    • Connect the water pipes with strong glue. Connect tees to the main water pipe and also inside it, with one end for bathing. After installing the toilet, fill the gaps at the bottom with epoxy resin glue.
