Dimensions of Public Mobile Toilets

Admin October 10, 2026

The dimensions of public mobile toilets vary depending on the type and requirements, and can be divided into the following four categories:

1. Single-occupancy mobile toilets
The length typically ranges from 1.1 meters to 1.5 meters, the width from 1.0 meter to 1.2 meters, and the height from 2.2 meters to 2.5 meters. These toilets are designed to be compact and are suitable for scenarios with limited space and low foot traffic, such as construction sites and small event venues. Their dimensions must meet basic ergonomic requirements, for example, the toilet stall width should be no less than 0.9 meters, and the door width no less than 0.6 meters, to ensure user comfort.

2. Double-occupancy mobile toilets
The length ranges from 1.8 meters to 3.0 meters (some designs are 2.4 meters to 3.0 meters), the width from 1.1 meters to 1.5 meters (some can reach 1.2 meters to 1.5 meters), and the height is the same as that of single-occupancy toilets (2.2 meters to 2.5 meters). These toilets achieve a double-stall layout by increasing the length or width, and are suitable for large events, tourist attractions, and other scenarios that require rapid crowd dispersion. When designing, it is necessary to balance space utilization and ease of use to avoid conflicts due to insufficient dimensions.

3. Multi-occupancy or multi-functional mobile toilets
The length can reach 3.0 meters to over 6 meters (some designs are 6.8 meters), the width over 2.0 meters to 2.5 meters, and the height from 2.2 meters to 3.0 meters. These toilets are usually equipped with multiple stalls, sinks, and even management rooms, and are suitable for high-end events and long-term fixed locations (such as construction site living areas). Their dimensions must meet functional zoning requirements, for example, the management room needs to reserve operating space, and the spacing between stalls must comply with hygiene standards.

4. Accessible mobile toilets
The internal clear width should be greater than 1.5 meters, the clear depth greater than 1.8 meters, and the height fixed at 2.4 meters. These toilets are specially designed for people with disabilities and must meet the requirements for wheelchair turning space (with a diameter of no less than 1.5 meters) and the installation of assistive devices. They are suitable for public areas such as large parks and scenic spot entrances. Their dimension standards strictly follow accessible design specifications, for example, the door width should be greater than 0.9 meters to accommodate wheelchair passage.

Common design requirements: All types of mobile toilets must consider ergonomic factors, for example, the toilet stall width should be no less than 0.9 meters, and the door width no less than 0.6 meters; the height should meet the needs of different user groups while taking into account ventilation and lighting. The actual dimensions may vary slightly depending on the manufacturer, materials, or customization requirements, but all must optimize space utilization while meeting functionality.
