Dimensions of Public Mobile Toilets

Admin September 21, 2026

The dimensions of public mobile toilets vary depending on the type and requirements. Common specifications can be categorized into three types: single-stall, multi-stall combinations, and accessible stalls, as detailed below:

1. Common Single-Stall Specifications The external dimensions of a single-stall mobile toilet typically range from 1.2 to 1.5 meters in length, 1.0 to 1.2 meters in width, and 2.2 to 2.5 meters in height. This design must balance space utilization with user comfort. The net width of the internal toilet area should generally not be less than 0.85 meters, ideally reaching 0.9 to 1.0 meters to ensure sufficient space for users to move around. The net depth should be between 1.2 and 1.5 meters to avoid inconvenience due to cramped space. For example, some compact single-stall toilets may have external dimensions of 1.2 meters by 1.0 meters, with an internal net width of 0.85 meters and a net depth of 1.2 meters, suitable for temporary venues with low foot traffic. In contrast, high-end models may expand the external dimensions to 1.5 meters by 1.2 meters, with an internal net width of 1.0 meter and a net depth of 1.5 meters, enhancing the user experience.

2. Multi-Stall Combination Specifications Multi-stall mobile toilets achieve capacity expansion through modular design. The external dimensions of a common two-stall unit range from 2.4 to 3.0 meters in length and 1.0 to 1.2 meters in width. These toilets are formed by horizontally connecting single-stall modules, and the internal layout must optimize passage space to prevent interference between users. Larger container-style mobile public toilets can exceed 6 meters in length and 2.5 meters in width, integrating multiple male and female stalls, accessible toilets, and management rooms inside. For example, container-style public toilets used in scenic spots or large event venues may have external dimensions of 6 meters by 3 meters, with an internal layout of 4 male stalls, 6 female stalls, 1 accessible stall, and 1 management room to meet high foot traffic demands.

3. Accessible Stall Dimensions Accessible stalls must accommodate wheelchair passage and turning. The internal net width should typically be at least 1.5 meters, and the net depth should exceed 1.8 meters. The door design of these stalls is particularly crucial: if it opens outward, it saves internal space; if it opens inward, a wheelchair turning space with a diameter of not less than 1.50 meters must be left inside the stall after opening, and the clear passage width of the door should not be less than 800 millimeters. For example, an accessible stall that complies with the 'Accessibility Design Code' may have internal net dimensions of 1.8 meters by 2.0 meters, paired with an outward-opening door that is 850 millimeters wide, ensuring that wheelchair users can independently and safely complete their toilet activities.

The dimension design of public mobile toilets must comprehensively consider usage scenarios, foot traffic density, and special needs, achieving a balance between functionality and cost through modularization and standardization.
