Design Dimensions of Mobile Toilets for Events

Admin October 10, 2026

The design dimensions of mobile toilets for events vary depending on the type and usage requirements, with common specifications as follows:

Single-Occupant Mobile Toilets

The dimensions of single-occupant mobile toilets are designed to balance user comfort and space utilization. The length typically ranges from 1.1 meters to 1.5 meters, the width is between 1 meter and 1.2 meters, and the height starts at 2.2 meters. These dimensions can meet basic toilet needs while avoiding restricted user movement due to insufficient space. For example, some foam-flush public toilets, although appearing slender externally, achieve a more spacious actual usage space through optimized layouts (such as using curved doors or foldable facilities), enhancing the user experience.

Multi-Occupant Mobile Toilets

The dimensions of multi-occupant mobile toilets need to be flexibly adjusted according to the number of occupants and usage scenarios. Taking a double-occupant toilet as an example, the common length is 6.8 meters, with a width similar to that of a single-occupant toilet (approximately 1 meter to 1.2 meters) and a height also not less than 2.2 meters. This design is suitable for areas with high foot traffic (such as scenic spots and temporary event venues), expanding space by increasing length rather than width, ensuring usage efficiency while avoiding excessive land occupation.

Prefabricated Mobile Restrooms

Prefabricated mobile restrooms usually adopt a modular design, offering more flexible dimensions. A common specification is 2.5 meters (width) × 6.5 meters (length), internally divided into three separate areas (such as men's restrooms, women's restrooms, accessible restrooms, or management rooms) through partitions. This design is suitable for long-term or semi-permanent usage scenarios (such as construction sites and large exhibitions), with the advantage of adjusting area functions or adding/removing modules according to actual needs, while providing more comprehensive facilities (such as sinks and storage cabinets).

Design Considerations

  1. Avoid Excessively Small Dimensions: Insufficient space may lead to inconvenience for users (such as difficulty in turning around or fully opening the door) and even affect sanitation maintenance efficiency.
  2. Consider Actual Space Utilization: The space utilization efficiency varies significantly among different types of mobile toilets. For example, foam-flush public toilets save on cleaning frequency by reducing fecal and urine volume (using foam coverage), but require more precise internal layouts; while prefabricated restrooms need to reserve space for pipe installation and ventilation.
  3. Match Usage Scenarios: For temporary event venues, lightweight and easily disassembled single-occupant or double-occupant toilets are preferred; for long-term usage scenarios, prefabricated restrooms are recommended to balance functionality and durability.

When designing, it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate the number of users, site conditions, and budget to ensure that the dimensions meet functional requirements while adhering to economic principles.
