Depreciation Period of Mobile Toilets
There is no fixed standard for the depreciation period of mobile toilets, which needs to be comprehensively evaluated based on factors such as their classification, materials, usage frequency, maintenance, and environmental conditions. The specific situations can be divided into the following categories:

1. Determine the basic period based on asset classification If mobile toilets are classified as houses or buildings (such as fixed public toilets built by government agencies and institutions), according to the Implementation Regulations of the Enterprise Income Tax Law of the People's Republic of China, their depreciation period is usually 20 years. However, in actual use, if the material quality is poor or maintenance is insufficient, it may be lower than this standard. If classified as appliances, tools, etc. related to production and business activities, the tax law stipulates that the depreciation period should be no less than 3 years, and the specific period needs to be determined in combination with the enterprise's expected consumption mode. Environmentally friendly mobile toilets can be repeatedly disassembled and assembled, and their actual service life is generally no less than 15 years, but they are also affected by materials and maintenance.
2. Material quality directly affects service life High-quality materials (such as stainless steel and special coated steel) can significantly extend the service life. Ordinary steel may be severely corroded in harsh environments within 3-5 years, while mobile toilets made of stainless steel or anti-corrosion coated materials can have a service life of more than 10 years. Material durability is one of the core factors in evaluating the depreciation period.
3. Usage frequency and load accelerate wear and tear In places with a large flow of people (such as music festival sites), the usage frequency of mobile toilets is 10 times that of ordinary parks. The damage and aging speed of components are accelerated, and the depreciation period may be shortened by 2-3 years. Frequent use or overload operation will directly lead to increased equipment wear and tear, and the depreciation cycle needs to be shortened.
4. Maintenance extends service life Regular maintenance is the key to extending the depreciation period. Mobile toilets that undergo 4 comprehensive maintenance operations per year may have a depreciation period of 8-10 years; if they are not maintained for a long time, they may need to be replaced within 3-5 years. Maintenance includes cleaning, component replacement, anti-corrosion treatment, etc., which can effectively slow down equipment aging.
5. Environmental conditions accelerate aging Harsh environmental conditions such as high temperature, high humidity, strong winds, and acid rain will accelerate the aging and damage of mobile toilets. For example, due to salt spray corrosion in coastal areas, the service life of mobile toilets may be shortened by 30%-50% compared with that in inland areas. Environmental adaptability needs to be considered as a key factor in the evaluation.
6. Depreciation adjustments for special types of toilets If container-type toilets are classified as houses or buildings, their depreciation period is 20 years; if they focus more on mobility, the period needs to be determined with reference to the category of movable equipment. For fixed assets that need to be depreciated at an accelerated rate due to technological progress, the period can be shortened or accelerated depreciation methods can be adopted, but the minimum period shall not be lower than 60% of the prescribed standard.
