Creative Design of Container Houses
The creative design of container houses is reflected in multiple aspects such as shape, space utilization, color decoration, functional expansion, special design, and combined applications.

Shape Design: Container houses can be customized in shape according to specific needs. For example, multiple containers can be combined to form a star-shaped residence, or a tilted design can be adopted, making each container an independent space that serves both as a bedroom and a dining area. This design not only offers good ventilation but also effectively avoids direct sunlight, enhancing living comfort.
Space Utilization: Container houses can be designed with a reasonable spatial layout tailored to local conditions. For instance, a residence in a rural area of South Korea successfully transformed into two separate units by installing two overlapping containers on the roof. Additionally, it utilized natural light to create a large terrace for barbecues and socializing, achieving efficient space utilization.
Color and Decoration: Container houses pursue fashion and aesthetic appeal in terms of color and decoration. In terms of color, graffiti and other forms can be used to make the house exterior more lively; wooden panels can be used for exterior decoration, which is both aesthetically pleasing and heat-insulating. Furthermore, containers can be painted or clad in various ways to further enhance their visual appeal.
Functional Expansion: As long as the ceiling height is sufficient, container houses can be built with exclusive spaces such as living rooms. Additionally, painting the walls with vibrant colors as decoration can also add unique charm to the house.
Special Design: The inherent structural characteristic of containers, which do not require support, makes it possible to design large windows, thereby enhancing the sense of well-being in daily life. Moreover, houses can be customized by cutting or removing one or two side walls to meet specific needs. After treatment, sealing, and insulation, a comfortable and private indoor space can be provided.
Combined Applications: Multiple containers can be combined to form buildings with different functions. For example, the office building designed by Distill Studio is composed of 32 containers, including 12 offices and a cantilevered conference room, featuring high-performance insulation and energy-efficient climate control, with a colorful and lively exterior. The "Periscope Project" by ENS_projects in the United States consists of five intermodal containers forming a single unit, defining outdoor courtyards and second-floor platforms through linear and parallel arrangements. The exposed areas serve as auxiliary activity spaces, allowing natural light and ventilation to penetrate the building.
