Corner Post of Container House Material

Admin September 15, 2026

The corner posts of container house materials are typically made of weathering steel and are the main load-bearing components connecting the top corner fittings and bottom corner fittings. Their structural design and size specifications must meet the load-bearing and stability requirements of container houses.

Material and Performance

As a key structural component of container houses, the corner posts are mainly made of weathering steel. Weathering steel has excellent atmospheric corrosion resistance and can be used for a long time in harsh environments without easy rusting, thus ensuring the structural strength and service life of the corner posts. In addition, the corner posts need to have good mechanical properties, such as high yield strength and tensile strength, to withstand various loads generated during the transportation, stacking, and use of container houses.

Structural Design and Size Specifications

The structural design of the corner posts must meet the load-bearing and stability requirements of container houses. There are differences in size and shape between the front corner posts and the rear corner posts to meet the structural needs of different parts of the container house. For example, the steel plate thickness of the front corner post is 6.0mm, and the edges in contact with the ground are all 70mm. There are clear size regulations for the upward bending part to ensure that it can withstand the loads at the front end of the container house. The rear corner post is mainly used to connect the rear side panel and the rear end of the container. Its height, width, bending angle, and other dimensions also need to be precisely designed to ensure the structural stability of the rear end of the container house.

Custom Processing and Production Standards

The production of corner posts usually supports custom processing, and parameters such as size, material, and shape can be adjusted according to customer needs. During the production process, relevant standards must be strictly followed, such as certification standards from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV) in France, and Germanischer Lloyd (GL) in Germany, to ensure that the quality and performance of the corner posts meet international requirements. In addition, the processing technology of the corner posts also needs to be precise. For example, the arc radius at the bending part needs to be precisely controlled to avoid stress concentration and damage to the corner posts.

Application in Container Houses

The corner posts play a crucial load-bearing role in container houses. They connect the top corner fittings and bottom corner fittings, forming the basic frame structure of the container house and providing stable support for the house. At the same time, the corner posts also work in coordination with other structural components such as channel steels and columns to jointly withstand various loads generated during the transportation, stacking, and use of container houses, ensuring the safety and stability of the house.
