Container to House Conversion Plan

Admin September 15, 2026

The container-to-house conversion plan requires comprehensive consideration of structural design, functional zoning, material selection, and environmental protection and energy efficiency.

Structural Design: Container houses use standard containers as carriers, commonly available in 20-foot and 40-foot sizes, which can be used individually or combined. During renovation, it is necessary to address the corrosion prevention and load-bearing optimization of the steel structure, such as adding C-shaped steel purlins to distribute loads and ensure structural stability. Additionally, considering the convenience of transportation and on-site assembly, foldable or expandable designs can be adopted, such as dual-wing expansion boxes, which collapse during transportation and expand upon arrival to increase usable space.

Functional Zoning: Plan the interior space reasonably according to living needs. For example, set up separate bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms. The bedroom bed can be designed to be foldable, serving as a sofa during the day and unfolding into a bed at night to save space. The kitchen adopts a linear design to save space and facilitate storage. The bathroom requires proper waterproofing and a reasonable layout of sanitary equipment.

Material Selection: Choose environmentally friendly and durable materials. For example, use a broken-bridge lining structure to address the cold and heat bridge effect of the metal container walls, improving thermal insulation performance. The interior decoration uses a natural wood color as the main tone to create a warm and comfortable living environment. Additionally, consider using renewable energy equipment such as solar panels to solve electricity issues.

Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency: During the renovation process of container houses, emphasis should be placed on environmental protection and energy efficiency. For example, adopting factory prefabrication methods reduces on-site construction noise and construction waste. Interior decoration selects environmentally friendly materials to reduce harmful substance emissions. At the same time, reasonable ventilation and lighting design reduce energy consumption.
