Container-style Panel House Roof Drainage
Roof drainage for container-style panel houses can be addressed through methods such as designing drainage slopes, installing drainage gutters and downspouts, setting up ground drainage facilities, using waterproof materials, and establishing an appropriate drainage system. Details are as follows:

Designing drainage slopes: When installing the roof of a container house, a reasonable drainage slope should be designed, typically between 2% and 5%. This can be achieved by placing wedge-shaped blocks on the top of the container or adopting a sloped roof design. For residential containers, the roof slope should be at least 5% (i.e., rising 5 centimeters per meter). Rainwater flows along the slope to the lower side, dripping directly or draining through the eaves. If the container has a flat roof, a slight slope (at least 2%) must be created, and drainage outlets should be reserved to prevent water accumulation and leakage.
Installing drainage gutters and downspouts: Drainage gutters made of metal materials (such as galvanized steel sheets or aluminum alloys) should be installed along the edges of the container roof. The size should be selected based on the house area and local rainfall to collect rainwater. The collected rainwater is then discharged through downspouts to designated locations on the ground. The downspouts should be securely installed to ensure smooth drainage and prevent blockages. Packing-box houses have internal drainage channels around the top, through which rainwater flows into four downspouts. Downspouts commonly use PVC or galvanized steel pipes with diameters of 75mm or 110mm, and the spacing generally does not exceed 12 meters.
Setting up ground drainage facilities: Drainage wells and drainage pipes should be installed on the ground or around the container house to facilitate the rapid removal of rainwater. Additionally, open or closed drainage ditches can be set up around the house. Open ditches are simple to construct and easy to clean, while closed ditches do not affect the ground aesthetics. Both types can effectively remove accumulated water around the house.
Using waterproof materials: High-quality waterproof materials should be used on the roof and walls of the container house, such as modified asphalt waterproof membranes, PVC waterproof layers, sprayed waterproof coatings, or coatings. The joints should be additionally sealed to ensure no leakage or water permeability, further preventing water accumulation issues.
Establishing an appropriate drainage system: An appropriate drainage system, including sewers and drainage pipes, should be designed and established to ensure the rapid and effective discharge of sewage and rainwater, preventing water accumulation and pollution. At the same time, regular inspections and maintenance of the drainage system are necessary to ensure pipe patency, unobstructed drainage outlets, timely removal of accumulated water, cleaning of drainage pipes, and repair of leaks or damages.
