Container-Style Mobile Convenience Stations Debut, Exploring a New Model for Everyday Services

Admin September 12, 2026

Since 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and other departments have jointly advanced the development of 15-minute convenient living circles. Under the plan, more than 70% of cities are to launch convenient living circle work this year; by 2025, the program will roll out in cities where conditions allow. Overall resident satisfaction is expected to reach 90% or higher. A "15-minute convenient living circle" means that within a 15-minute walk from home, residents can meet needs for leisure, shopping, eldercare, sports, and more.

Mobile convenience stations have emerged in step with this trend. They aim to build a 10-minute convenient living circle and deliver unprecedented ease and a better everyday experience.

Distinctive design and a contemporary look. With a unique exterior and flexible layouts, the mobile convenience station becomes a bright landmark in the city. It makes clever use of container space to create a full-featured, distinctive local service hub.

Clear advantages, convenience close at hand. No long trip is needed—within about ten minutes, residents can enjoy everyday services here: parcel pickup, daily goods, medical access, leisure and entertainment, and more.

A strong character and lasting impact. Beyond unmatched convenience, the station brings fresh vitality to the community. It strengthens neighborly exchange and positive interaction, and deepens community cohesion and belonging.

Case 1: A container-style convenience store opened in the Dahongmen Jinyuan residential community. Residents can buy fresh produce without leaving the complex. The shop also offers laundry, repair, locksmith and key-cutting services, plus charging facilities, first-aid kits, toolkits, and more—real, practical help for daily life. Early in the morning on opening day, many residents came to try it. Unlike an ordinary storefront, the unique container shop looks like a large truck, with a green "cab" and a long "body." Glass panels carry a clear label: "No overnight vegetables, no overnight meat." A service zone provides laundry, repairs, key cutting, drain clearing, and similar help. Residents can also scan a code to order in-store goods online, with delivery from $0.14, $0 delivery fee, and home delivery within 30 minutes.

Case 2: To better serve community residents, Chongqing piloted 15-minute convenient living circles in places such as Jiulongpo and Liangjiang New Area. The results were strong enough that the national Ministry of Commerce promoted them as a model nationwide. Every day at 11:30 a.m., the community canteen in Minzhu Village, Xiejiawan Subdistrict, Jiulongpo District, opens on time, with more than 20 dishes—including ten meat dishes and three kinds of fruit—for diners to choose from. Beyond the tailored community canteen, Minzhu Village used containers to create a "bustling marketplace" hillside dining cluster, bringing in more than 20 brand restaurants and offering residents a wider range of meal options. On the service side, the area upgraded the community health center and built a 24-hour convenience bookstore. It also integrated appliance repair and recycling, a tailor shop, locksmith services, and more into five unified Craftsman Workshops for one-stop help.

Application case 3: Early on the morning of April 16, 2024, outside the Majiapu Subdistrict service center in Fengtai District, a "coach" loaded with fruit and vegetable products drew passersby to stop. Guided by the 15-minute convenience idea—sharing resources and complementing strengths—the project aims to build a "10-minute convenient living circle" and a "smart community," jointly creating a new type of livelihood service complex.

Application case 4: The Lianyungang public-transport mobile market officially opened on April 20, 2024, in Lianyungang, Jiangsu. Convenience service points offer breakfast, fresh fruit and produce, grain, oil, rice, flour, and more, supporting the city's convenient living circle development.
