Roof Insulation for Container Shops and Houses
Roof insulation for container shops and houses can be achieved through filling insulation materials, adopting thermal-break insulation techniques, installing sun-shading facilities, and optimizing drainage design.

Filling Insulation Materials
Filling insulation materials is crucial for roof insulation in container shops and houses. Rock wool is a commonly used and highly effective insulation material with excellent thermal insulation properties. It can effectively block heat conduction and reduce heat exchange between the interior and exterior. For example, when upgrading the interior of a container, filling it with thermal-insulating rock wool can significantly improve insulation and solve the problem of traditional containers being stuffy. Additionally, polyurethane foam layers are also a good choice due to their high insulation efficiency. The national 'Technical Standard for Steel Structure Integrated Houses' explicitly requires that the heat transfer coefficient of walls in residential containers be ≤0.45W/(㎡·K). Polyurethane foam layers can help meet this standard and achieve good insulation effects.
Adopting Thermal-Break Insulation Techniques
Thermal-break insulation techniques can effectively block cold and heat conduction. By adopting a thermal-break lining structure on the roof of container shops and houses, i.e., filling hard polyurethane foam between the steel frame and interior wall panels and adding rubber insulation pads at the frame connections, the heat exchange efficiency between the interior and exterior can be reduced by about 40%, significantly improving insulation performance. Meanwhile, using thermal-break aluminum double-glazed windows and doors can further improve indoor temperatures, meeting the long-term usage needs of shops.
Installing Sun-Shading Facilities
Installing sun-shading facilities can reduce the heat brought by direct sunlight on the roof. Adjustable sun-shading canopies are a good choice as they can be adjusted according to the intensity and angle of sunlight, effectively blocking sunlight from entering the interior and lowering indoor temperatures. For example, a double-story container café in Moganshan is equipped with adjustable sun-shading canopies, ensuring comfortable indoor temperatures even during direct afternoon sunlight.
Optimizing Drainage Design
Good drainage design can prevent roof insulation layers from being damaged by accumulated water. Reasonably designing the drainage slope allows rainwater to drain smoothly, preventing water accumulation from eroding roof insulation materials and affecting insulation effects. Meanwhile, at vulnerable leakage points such as panel seams and roof joints, using waterproof membranes and fully sealing with sealant to ensure seamless sealing can prevent rainwater leakage and ensure the long-term stability of roof insulation performance.
