Drainage of Container Renovation Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The drainage system of container renovation houses needs to be combined with septic tanks, rainwater collection and purification systems, or municipal connections, achieving drainage functions through reasonable design of pipeline layouts and waterproofing treatments.

1. Septic Tank System for Domestic Sewage Disposal

If container houses are used as long-term living spaces, they need to be equipped with septic tanks to treat domestic sewage. For example, in a case of a container villa, the septic tank was used to solve the drainage problem and achieve preliminary sewage treatment. Septic tanks are usually buried underground and connected to drainage outlets such as toilets and kitchens inside the container through pipes. After sedimentation and fermentation, the upper clear liquid can be discharged into the municipal sewage network or used for irrigation, while the sediment needs to be cleaned regularly. The capacity of the septic tank should be designed according to the number of occupants and the frequency of use to ensure the stable operation of the drainage system.

2. Rainwater Collection and Purification System for Auxiliary Drainage

Some container houses use rainwater collection systems to supplement water sources and achieve recycling through purification treatment. For example, in a certain case, rainwater collection tanks were installed on the roof, and after treatment with purification equipment, the water was used for non-potable water scenarios such as toilet flushing and irrigation. The rainwater collection system needs to be linked with the drainage pipes to avoid rainwater backflow or waterlogging problems. The pipeline design should consider the slope to ensure that rainwater naturally flows into the collection device, and filters should be installed to prevent blockages from debris.

3. Municipal Connection and Temporary Drainage Solutions

If container houses are located in areas covered by municipal networks, they can be directly connected to the water supply and drainage systems. For example, a supplier of second-hand container houses offers products that can be equipped with energy-saving lamps, distribution boxes, and drainage pipes to meet basic living needs. For temporary container houses, mobile sewage treatment equipment or water storage tanks can be used to achieve drainage functions through regular cleaning. The pipeline connections should use waterproof sealing materials to prevent leakage.

4. Key Points of Pipeline Layout and Waterproofing Treatment

During container renovation, pipes should be embedded in walls or floors to avoid exposure that affects aesthetics and safety. For example, in a certain case, the designer relaid wires and pipes to solve the basic living problems of the container. It is recommended to use PVC or PPR pipes for pipeline materials, which are corrosion-resistant and easy to install. Waterproofing treatment should be carried out at wall openings, such as applying waterproof coatings or installing waterproof sleeves, to prevent rainwater from seeping into the interior of the container.
