Container Renovated House for Fish Farming

Admin September 15, 2026

It is feasible to renovate container houses for fish farming, and this approach offers numerous advantages.

I. Mature Technological Models

Container fish farming technology, namely controlled container recirculating aquaculture system (CRAS), has developed two mature models: land-based water-pushing and one-drag-two. The land-based water-pushing model integrates containers with ponds to form a unified circulation system. Water is pumped from the pond, sterilized, and used for flowing water fish farming in the containers. The aquaculture wastewater undergoes solid-liquid separation and is returned to the pond for treatment. The one-drag-two model adopts fully enclosed aquaculture, consisting of one intelligent water treatment tank and two standard aquaculture tanks. It integrates six technological modules, including water quality monitoring and control, feces collection, water purification, oxygen supply, and temperature control, achieving full control over the aquaculture process through 'six-control' technology.

II. Efficient Space Utilization

A standard container measures 6×2.4×2.8 meters and has a renovated volume of 25 cubic meters, enabling high-density aquaculture. For example, a 15-square-meter container can produce tens of thousands of kilograms of fish annually, equivalent to the output of two acres of traditional earth ponds, while saving over 90% of water. This model significantly improves land utilization efficiency and is particularly suitable for areas with limited land resources.

III. Precise Environmental Control

Container fish farming maintains a stable aquaculture environment through temperature control, oxygenation, and water circulation equipment. Twin-screw blowers continuously supply oxygen, ensuring a stable dissolved oxygen level of 7-8 milligrams per liter in the water. The intelligent system can precisely adjust water temperature, pH value, ammonia nitrogen, and other indicators, avoiding the impact of natural environmental fluctuations on aquaculture. For example, the one-drag-two system instantly treats feces through bacterial and algal control technologies, reducing disease risks and achieving a survival rate of over 95%.

IV. Resource Recycling

Aquaculture wastewater is reused after multi-stage purification, achieving water resource recycling. Sewage is treated through a dry-wet separation system, converting fish feces into organic fertilizer for planting. The tailwater is returned to the aquaculture system after four-stage purification. Some models also incorporate fish-vegetable symbiosis technology, forming an ecological closed loop of 'fish farming without water changes and vegetable growing without fertilization'.

V. Intelligent and Convenient Management

Container fish farming integrates automated feeding and monitoring equipment, supporting cloud-based app management. Aquaculture data is uploaded in real-time, enabling full-process monitoring from container unloading to the dining table. A single person can manage multiple containers, significantly reducing labor intensity. For example, the aquaculture system at Anhui Organic Liangzhuang is controlled through the Internet of Things, requiring only a small number of personnel to maintain 88 aquaculture tanks.
