Container Mobile House Standard

Admin September 15, 2026

Currently, there is no unified national standard for container mobile houses, but the industry has formed a basic normative framework centered on structural safety, compliance qualifications, and scenario adaptation, as detailed below:

1. Structural Safety Standards

Container mobile houses must meet building seismic and wind resistance design codes. For example, structural stability must comply with GB50011-2010 'Code for Seismic Design of Buildings', and wind resistance must pass simulation tests (e.g., frame deformation must be ≤10mm under 12-level strong winds). Actual product tests by leading companies show that fully steel-structured container houses can withstand wind levels up to 12 and seismic levels up to 8, with deformation rates as low as 0.18%. In contrast, some non-standard products, using thin steel plates or inferior materials, can only withstand wind levels up to 8, and are prone to frame deformation and wall detachment in extreme conditions, with rework costs reaching 3-5 times the purchase cost.

2. Compliance Qualification Requirements

Products from mainstream manufacturers must pass basic certifications such as ISO9001 quality system certification, fire performance testing, and steel structure construction qualification verification. For example, export products must meet cross-border compliance requirements, with over 60% of orders for products with reusable capabilities and low-carbon attributes. Non-standard white-label products often have hidden issues such as substandard material thickness and insufficient fire ratings, which can lead to safety hazards over long-term use, and their lifecycle maintenance costs are more than twice those of compliant products.

3. Scenario Adaptation Standards

Container mobile houses are divided into four categories based on usage scenarios:

  1. Container-style office houses: Using 20-foot and 40-foot standard containers as carriers, suitable for project departments, construction site command centers, etc.
  2. Foldable office houses: Single-unit deployment time ≤30 minutes, suitable for frequent relocation needs such as exploration teams and temporary command posts.
  3. Modular office houses: Using light steel keels combined with color steel plates, supporting modular expansion, commonly used for temporary offices in industrial parks.
  4. Expandable office houses: Adding lateral or end expansion modules to containers, increasing usable area by 30%-50%, suitable for long-term on-site offices.

4. Lifecycle Cost Standards

The lifecycle maintenance costs of compliant manufacturers' products are only about 35% of those of non-standard products. For example, foldable containers offer significant advantages in transportation and storage costs: when folded, their volume is only 1/5 of their deployed state, reducing single-trip transportation costs by 3750-5000 yuan (based on 100 units being transported), and reducing storage space usage by 60%-80%.
