Is a Container Mobile House Good?

Admin September 15, 2026

Container mobile houses generally perform well, offering multiple advantages, but there are also some aspects that require attention.

Significant Advantages:

  • High Flexibility and Mobility: Container mobile houses can be quickly assembled, relocated, and disassembled according to needs, making them suitable for scenarios such as temporary construction site offices, emergency accommodations, and mobile office spaces. They can meet the demands of frequent relocation or high mobility.
  • Efficient Construction and Low Cost: Using existing containers as the base material, the construction speed is much faster than that of traditional buildings, saving a significant amount of time and cost. For example, a container with an interior area of about 13 square meters after decoration sells for approximately 12,000 yuan, which is nearly 900 yuan per square meter, making it a cost-effective option.
  • Sturdy and Durable Structure: The main body is made of high-strength steel, offering excellent earthquake resistance and deformation resistance. The sealing process ensures airtightness and water tightness, effectively preventing leakage and moisture, with a theoretical service life of over twenty years. Some products have a wind resistance rating of up to 12 and an earthquake resistance rating of 8, with a frame deformation rate much lower than the industry's qualified threshold.
  • Flexible and Versatile Space: The movable container bodies can be flexibly assembled and combined to easily create various functional spaces. The standard specifications are highly adaptable, balancing transportation convenience with rapid on-site installation efficiency.
  • Low Carbon and Environmentally Friendly: The construction process generates minimal construction waste, and the containers have recycling value, aligning with the concept of low carbon and environmental protection.

Limitations:

  • Poor High-Temperature Resistance: The exposed steel structure, when exposed to high temperatures around 600°C, experiences a significant decrease in steel strength, making it prone to deformation or even collapse. Professional fireproof cladding must be implemented during the construction phase.
  • High Requirements for Moisture and Corrosion Resistance: Steel is at risk of rusting when exposed to humid environments for extended periods, necessitating long-term corrosion protection treatments to ensure the safety and durability of the building throughout its lifecycle.
