Container Mobile House Door Sizes

Admin September 15, 2026

The sizes of doors for container mobile houses vary depending on the type and purpose. Common standard sizes include single doors measuring 800 millimeters in width by 2000 millimeters in height, double doors measuring 1600 millimeters in width by 2000 millimeters in height, and the inner clear opening of the front door of a standard 20-foot international container measuring 2198 millimeters in height by 2168 millimeters in width.

I. Standard Sizes of Container House Doors

Container house doors are generally categorized into three types: single doors, double doors, and custom-made doors:

  1. Single Doors: The standard size is 800 millimeters in width and 2000 millimeters in height, suitable for most standard container houses, meeting daily entry and exit needs while ensuring security.
  2. Double Doors: The standard size is 1600 millimeters in width and 2000 millimeters in height, suitable for scenarios requiring larger openings, such as moving large items or serving as entrances and exits for office or storage container houses.
  3. Custom-Made Doors: Customized according to specific needs, with flexible size adjustments. For example, some customers may require taller or wider doors for special purposes, such as equipment transportation or barrier-free access.

II. Sizes of International Standard Container Front Doors

The inner clear opening size of the front door of a standard 20-foot dry cargo container is 2198 millimeters in height and 2168 millimeters in width (including the frame). This size is a stable parameter formed by considering engineering factors such as structural load-bearing, lifting clearance, and sealing edges, aiming to ensure forklift passage and cargo loading and unloading efficiency. In daily renovations, door openings in old bathrooms, gas rooms, and temporary partitions often approach this size. For example, when a user renovated a balcony into a gas room, the original opening was 2180 millimeters in height and 2150 millimeters in width, with only a slight difference in size to fit within the standard range of container doors.

III. Considerations for Size Selection

  1. Functional Requirements: Choose the door type based on the usage scenario. Single doors are suitable for daily entry and exit, double doors are needed for moving large items or equipment, and custom-made doors can be ordered for special requirements.
  2. Spatial Fit: When renovating, measure the existing door opening size to ensure it matches the size of the container door. If the size difference is small, it can be resolved by adjusting the door frame or choosing a door type with strong adaptability (such as PVC folding doors).
  3. International Standard Reference: If international transportation or general container renovation is involved, prioritize adhering to the inner clear opening size of the front door of a 20-foot container (2198 millimeters by 2168 millimeters) to ensure compatibility.
