Container Measurement for House Area
The area of a house measured using containers is primarily determined by calculating the product of the length and width of its base. The areas of houses constructed from containers of different sizes vary significantly, with common standard-sized container houses having areas of 9 square meters, 18 square meters, 21 square meters, etc. Areas can also be customized according to specific needs.

Areas of Container Houses with Standard Sizes Container houses with standard sizes have fixed dimensions. For example, a container measuring 3 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height has a house area calculated as the product of its length and width, i.e., 3×3 = 9 square meters. Such small-area containers are typically made for customers with special requirements, as their small size may lead to material wastage. A container measuring 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height has a house area of 6×3 = 18 square meters, which is a common standard size on the market and is often used in construction sites and road construction scenarios. A container measuring 7 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.8 meters in height has a house area of 7×3 = 21 square meters and is mostly used as a two-story container mobile house with corridors and balconies.
Areas of Customized Container Houses The sizes and areas of customized container houses can be flexibly adjusted according to customer needs, allowing for both larger and smaller options. When professionally customizing container mobile houses, standard 20-foot and 40-foot container sizes are commonly used, but non-standard customization is also possible based on demand, such as 3m×6m, 3m×8m, 3m×12m, etc. The length, width, and height can all be flexibly adjusted, with width options including 2.5m, 2.55m, 3m, 4m, etc., and height options including 2.6m, 2.7m, 2.8m, 2.9m, etc. Therefore, the house area can be calculated based on the specific dimensions.
Areas of Container Houses with Special Sizes Taking a 40-foot container as an example, if its length is 12.032 meters and its width is 2.352 meters, then its footprint (i.e., house area) is 12.032×2.352 = 28.299 square meters. Additionally, the external dimensions of a 20-foot standard container are 6058×2438×2591mm, with internal dimensions of 5867×2330×2350mm; the external dimensions of a 40-foot standard container are 12192×2438×2591mm, with internal dimensions of 11998×2330×2350mm; and the external dimensions of a 40-foot high-cube container are 12192×2438×2896mm, with internal dimensions of 11998×2330×2655mm. The house areas of these different types of containers can also be calculated based on their length and width.
