Container House with Air Conditioner

Admin September 16, 2026

When installing an air conditioner in a container house, it is necessary to choose a dedicated one according to the needs or install an ordinary air conditioner with caution, and pay attention to power matching, maintenance, and environmental control.

Advantages and Applications of Dedicated Container Air Conditioners

Dedicated container air conditioners are designed for modular and standardized scenarios such as energy storage containers and battery energy storage compartments. They offer significant advantages. With a design featuring high air volume and low enthalpy difference, they achieve a sensible heat ratio of over 85%, effectively addressing the high heat generation and rapid heat dissipation requirements of equipment inside containers. Their installation forms are flexible, including floor-standing, wall-mounted, and ceiling-mounted types, suitable for various scenarios such as oil exploration, railway communication base stations, and offshore platforms. Functionally, they are equipped with dual temperature control for heating and cooling, high-humidity dehumidification, and year-round cooling capabilities. The built-in LCD controller with an RS-485 interface supports remote monitoring. Corrosion-resistant designs (land-use ordinary type, corrosion-resistant type, and marine corrosion-resistant type) and CE certification ensure the stability of the equipment in harsh environments. Some models are also equipped with IoT security monitoring systems and smart cloud platforms for remote operation and maintenance, reducing maintenance costs.

Limitations of Installing Ordinary Air Conditioners

Ordinary air conditioners are not suitable for direct installation in container houses for the following main reasons:

  1. Performance Mismatch: Container spaces are small and have fast heat conduction. Ordinary air conditioners, designed for commercial housing, have insufficient air volume and cooling capacity, resulting in poor performance and high power consumption.
  2. Structural Risks: Containers experience severe vibrations during transportation, making the copper pipe joints of ordinary air conditioners prone to refrigerant leakage. The installation of the outdoor unit requires drilling holes in the container body. If the welding is not secure, it may detach during high-speed operation, posing safety hazards.
  3. Poor Power Compatibility: Ordinary air conditioners require a stable 220V voltage, while containers often use vehicle-mounted power supplies or generators with significant voltage fluctuations, which can easily cause compressor burnout.
  4. Health Risks: The ventilation in iron containers is poor. When the air conditioner is on, the air becomes dry, and bacteria grow 13% faster than in ordinary rooms. Long-term use may lead to joint pain, diarrhea, and other issues.

Installation and Usage Precautions

  1. Power Matching: Choose an air conditioner with an appropriate power rating based on the size of the container and the usage scenario (e.g., whether it is an energy storage power station) to avoid insufficient power supply or excessive costs.
  2. Regular Maintenance: Especially in humid environments, closely monitor the operation status of the air conditioner, regularly clean the filters, and check the refrigerant to prevent malfunctions.
  3. Environmental Control: Use a temperature control system to avoid overheating or overcooling, ensuring worker efficiency and stable export product quality.
  4. Prioritize Dedicated Equipment: For scenarios such as energy storage and new energy, it is recommended to use dedicated container air conditioners, whose corrosion-resistant designs and remote monitoring functions better meet the needs.
