Container House Waterproofing Treatment

Admin September 16, 2026

The waterproofing treatment of container houses requires a comprehensive approach covering material selection, joint sealing, roof drainage, and routine maintenance.

Material selection is fundamental: The panels of container houses must possess good waterproofing properties. For example, combining a galvanized steel frame with rock wool sandwich panels not only provides structural stability but also effectively blocks moisture penetration. Additionally, when decorating the interior and exterior walls of container houses, waterproof coatings with functions such as anti-mold growth, efficient moisture prevention, corrosion resistance, and non-peeling properties should be selected to reduce the risk of dampness and water leakage from the source.

Joint sealing is crucial: The panel joints, door and window closures, and roof拼接 (splicing) positions of container houses are common areas for water leakage. Therefore, waterproofing membranes and sealants should be used for full sealing at these locations to ensure continuous joint sealing without breaks. At the same time, a reasonable drainage slope should be designed to allow the panels to overlap in the direction of water flow, preventing water accumulation and leakage issues. For environments with heavy rainfall in the south or on islands, special attention should be given to reinforcing the waterproofing techniques for roof and corner closures.

Roof drainage must be unobstructed: The roof of a container house should be designed with a reasonable drainage system, including drainage outlets and downspouts, to ensure that rainwater can be quickly discharged and prevent water accumulation from damaging the roof. Additionally, regular cleaning of debris from drainage outlets and downspouts should be carried out to maintain unobstructed drainage.

Routine maintenance is essential: During the use of container houses, regular waterproofing inspections and maintenance should be conducted. For example, checking for aging and cracking of sealants, bulging of waterproofing membranes, etc., to promptly identify and address minor issues and prevent them from escalating into large-scale water leakage. Furthermore, conducting隐患 (potential hazard) inspections on the roof and clearing debris such as fallen leaves from drainage outlets before the rainy season arrives are also effective measures to reduce maintenance costs.
