Container House Waterproofing Issues
Waterproofing of container houses requires comprehensive handling from three aspects: materials, construction, and maintenance.

Material selection is fundamental: The waterproofing performance of container houses is closely related to the quality of materials. High-quality waterproof materials such as waterproof membranes and sealants should be used for roofs, walls, and other parts. For example, Nanjing Changyou box-type movable packing container houses adopt a multi-layer structure on the roof, including iron sheets, glass wool, moisture-proof membranes, and ceiling tiles, and use structural adhesive for sealing at the joints, effectively preventing rainwater leakage. In addition, the coatings of container houses should also have functions such as moisture resistance, anti-mold, and corrosion resistance to reduce moisture and leakage problems from the source.
Construction techniques are crucial: Correct construction techniques are the core of ensuring the waterproofing of container houses. During construction, special attention should be paid to the treatment of parts prone to leakage such as joints and holes. For example, parts such as the roof, around doors and windows, and roof panel joints of container houses should be fully sealed with waterproof membranes and sealants, and a reasonable drainage slope should be designed to ensure that rainwater can be discharged smoothly. In addition, during construction, stepping on the roof should be avoided to prevent leakage caused by loosening of fasteners or aging of waterproof pads. For openings on the panels of movable houses, such as those for installing fans and exhaust pipes, proper waterproofing should be done around them to prevent cracks from expanding due to thermal expansion and contraction.
Regular maintenance is essential: During the use of container houses, the waterproof layer should be regularly inspected and maintained. For example, check whether the sealant on the roof, walls, and other parts is aging or cracking, and repair or replace it in a timely manner. At the same time, pay attention to cleaning debris from gutters, drainage outlets, and other parts to prevent water accumulation and leakage. After severe weather such as the plum rain season or typhoons and heavy rain, the waterproofing performance of the house should be inspected as a priority to ensure there is no leakage.
