Container House Wall Can Be Painted White

Admin September 15, 2026

The walls of container houses can be painted white, but it is necessary to choose the appropriate paint according to the wall material and perform proper base treatment. Here is a detailed analysis:

If the wall of the container house is made of metal, it is necessary to use waterproof, sun-resistant, and anti-corrosion paint specially designed for metal, such as water-based iron porcelain glass outdoor iron sheet wall painting special pigments. Ordinary wall paint cannot adapt to the characteristic of metal materials being prone to oxidation when exposed to water, especially in long-term outdoor environments where sun and rain will accelerate the peeling of the paint. The special metal color painting paint can form a dense protective layer, isolate moisture and air, and extend the service life. For example, after an old iron door in a warehouse was renovated with this type of paint, it did not show blistering or fading even after heavy rain. During construction, it is necessary to first remove rust and clean the metal surface to ensure that the paint adheres firmly.

If the wall of the container house is made of concrete or other non-metal materials, it can be painted white following the conventional wall painting steps. First, assess the condition of the wall, check for issues such as cracks, blistering, mildew, or peeling, and make repairs. Use a scraper and wall repair paste to fill cracks and holes, and sand them smooth after drying. For larger cracks or blistering, scrape off the blistered part, refill, and sand. Then clean the wall to remove dust, dirt, and oil stains, ensuring that the wall is completely dry. Next, apply a primer to seal the wall, enhance the adhesion of the topcoat, and make the color more uniform. After the primer is dry, mix the topcoat and apply two coats, allowing each coat to dry between applications. Finally, use a small paintbrush to handle details such as corners and edges.

Regardless of the material, base treatment is crucial. For metal materials, ensure that the surface is clean and rust-free; for non-metal materials, ensure that the wall is flat, dry, and free of stains. Only by doing a good job of base treatment can you ensure that the paint remains smooth and durable, achieving the desired whitening effect.
